Iris Apfel, fashion’s favorite nonagenarian, launched her new line of handbags ‘Extinctions’ this past Friday at Henri Bendel. The line features colorful bags rendered in Mongolian lamb hair, calf hair, and snakeskin. Right now, the collection, which retails for $228-$398, is available exclusively at the Henri Bendel pop-up shop.
In an interview with WWD, Apfel said the line reflects her personality, “I’m a color person, I’ve never been known to play it safe. Plus I like big bags. My eyeglasses are so big, they don’t fit into smaller bags.” ‘Nuff said!
