60+ Gift Ideas For Everyone On Your List

This summer I discovered my new favorite makeup product: rose water. At first, I thought this was a completely frivolous step in my beauty routine. The idea of spritzing my face with rose water seemed too princessy, even for me. Then one hot summer day in NYC, I was out with a friend and practically melting. She whipped out the Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist ($32) and my life was changed. Not only was the mist cooling, but it was scent was so intoxicating. I instantly felt relaxed. I knew I was addicted.

Not only is rose water spray soothing and relaxing, but it’s actually good for your skin. Here are some of the awesome benefits of rose water:

  • Controls excess oils
  • Hydrates and moisturizes skin
  • Reduces redness and blotchiness
  • Has antibacterial properties, so it helps heals scars and cuts
  • Has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin conditions like acne & eczema
  • Works like an astringent, so it helps clean out pores and tone the skin

At first, I was worried that a rose water facial mist would ruin my makeup. Spraying your face with regular water is usually a no-go if you’re trying to keep your foundation in place. However, rose water actually helps set your makeup. It hydrates your skin and keeps your makeup looking fresh. All you need to do is mist it over your face and it will instantly set your makeup. It’s also great as a midday pick-me-up if your makeup starts to look a little lackluster.
