What: Boom Bags stereo-subwoofer-microphone-compatible luggage. As in, the audio equipment is inside the luggage.
Why: Actually, I’m not really sure. It seems like they just put two random things together. Like, a water bottle that’s also an alarm clock (because you keep both by your bedside?) – it’s not a bad idea, just kind of odd.
The Boom Bags people seem to think these are most helpful for traveling professionals talking in front of powerpoints (see photo below) because you can plug in a mic and project to a whole room through your suitcase (and if the room's too big, they say, get two suitcases!). Personally, I just think it’d be cool to have a dance party in my hotel room – the bags amplify music from iPods and laptops. And, of course, they’re also luggage. Get yourself some packing cubes to put inside and be a crazy efficient well-packed multitasker.
Get Yours: $140 to $250 at BoomBags.com

Category: Fashion How To Jeans
As I’ve already shared, these J. Crew Matchstick Jeans ($98) are seriously my favorite thing. And while the model in this photo is doing a lovely ballet-flats-and-pastel-shirt brunch/casual office outfit thing, I also like to glam these up a bit and wear them out on the town. The dark wash is key, because (as evidenced below) they look great with pastels and daywear, but they also blend right in at dimly-lit restaurants and bars. Below, some options for what to wear with dressy denim.
Serious Shoes, Serious Earrings With unique standout earrings like this gold-and-stone pair from Alexis Bittar ($325), and high heels in an unexpected color like the glossy blue on these thick-strapped sandals ($98.96), it doesn’t even really matter what kind of shirt you wear – the getup would look night-out fancy with a white ribbed tank.
Flowing Top, Little Bag A flowing cut contrasts nicely with the geometric lines of a small clutch, and highlights the slim silhouette of the jeans. We especially like the black-patent-and-wicker combo on J. Crew’s Miranda Picnic Clutch ($68). Try it with a simple slouchy tunic like Rachel Palley’s Jen Top ($146) or go for more drama with the sheer ¾ sleeve shirt below ($272).
Sparkly Tank, Period. A more wearable, more seasonless iteration of the sequin minidress is the sparkly tank, which, of course, adds an instant shot of dressiness to any pair of pants. Theory’s copper-colored sequined tank (was $495, now $173) and this beaded black tank from LaROK ($198) both have a slightly relaxed fit.

Category: Beauty Nail Care Fashion Trend Alert
First it was visible bras straps, then dirty hair, and now, according to the New York Times, chipped nail polish is not only considered socially acceptable, but is actually becoming a fashion statement. Well, it's about time, people. When I think of how much money, worry, and effort I have invested into making sure my nails were up to par following a manicure - especially one with dark nail polish - it makes me more than a little depressed. Okay, a bit of an exaggeration, however, it has always been annoying to discover that first chip after trying so hard to maintain impeccably manicured nails. I welcome this trend with open arms, and am a big fan of the shabby chic look. As long as there's no dirt under those fingernails, I say, go ahead! chip away! And for the most dramatic effect, start with a darker polish, like mysterious Lincoln Park After Dark or sultry I'm Not Really A Waitress. What do you think about this odd new trend? Write to us in the comments section and share your opinion.

A great leather handbag is like a great man: it looks good going to work or relaxing on the weekends, it stands up to the rigors of everyday life, and it keeps getting better with age. A hobo bag in a neutral color is both timely and timeless. But one of these bags costs ten times more than the other. Can you guess which one will leave you with cash to stash? Test your Fashion IQ with other Taste Tests.

It's not quite the middle of the year, but we're not telling that to the folks at Nordstrom, who are marking down tons of spring and summer must-haves for their Half-Yearly Sale. What better to spend your stimulus check on than on a pair of fantastic wedge sandals. Give your height a boost while you're doing the same for the economy (hey, they've pretty much told us to spend the money on shoes!) in these bold wedge sandals perfect for summer.
Wouldn't Jessica Simpson's hippie-chic Guama Espadrille wedges ($47, were $79) look absolutely fabulous with a short denim skirt and a pair of those huge vintage sunglasses that are so in fashion? Don't forget to self-tan those legs, though—they'll be getting lots of attention in these high high heels.
Infuse your shoe wardrobe with a little zing, courtesy of Via Spiga's Zevas sandals ($128, were $215) in a bold-meets-neutral palette of lime and camel. The color combo is ultra artsy, so let these wedges do all the talking and pare down on the accessories.
Blair and Serena closed out Gossip Girl's big season sporting enormous flowers, and you just know Carrie Bradshaw's going to be rocking some serious blooms, too. Time to face facts: outrageous floral accessories are back. Cop these black and pink Foster wedges from Betsey Johnson ($98, were $165) to stay on trend in a funky yet fashionable way.
