Seersucker has some very preppy connotations – mint juleps and nine irons, to name just two – but with modern cuts and a bit of restraint, it’s easy to make this pattern work in real life. Pair these pieces with solid white and perhaps a chunky bangle bracelet or two to channel classic summertime chic and avoid looking like a displaced, Derby spectator.
The cropped cut and green piping on Free People’s Seersucker Jacket ($128) keep the piece from being too serious.
This Isaac Mizrahi for Target Seersucker Halter Dress ($34.99) in brown and white instead of the classic light blue combines a flattering A-line cut with an adjustable halter top, so you can tie it to size.
We love the way the stripes on this cotton miniskirt ($15.80) alternate from horizontal to vertical; the effect is playful and perfect for weekends.
Chaiken’s Regatta Seersucker Dress ($396) is simple and sleek, and the tucked-and-folded front is reminiscent of some of our favorite laid-back frocks of the season.
These Cynthia Steffe Seersucker Sailor Trousers ($195) incorporate the nautical trend we’ve been seeing all over the place.

What: Sex and the City Pearl Thong by Bracli, $64 Why: As the countdown to Sex and the City: The Movie continues (May 30th, people), it seems as if this city has become utterly punch drunk with everything SATC. From magazine features to character lingerie, we just can't get enough of our four leading ladies. So it didn't really get our panties in a bunch (pardon the pun) when we found out you can now purchase the same pearl thong - not the EXACT same - that Richard gave Samantha in Episode 69 (pardon someone else's pun). Lingerie company, Bracli, is offering the elaborate - and apparently stimulating - thong just in time for the movie premiere. And from how Samantha raves about it in the show, I'm thinking it might be worth the 60 bucks. As long as I don't use the stairs. And by the way - you adventurous types can purchase a double-strand thong for only $12 more. What a bargain! Get Yours: yandy.com

Since the point of a cocktail dress is basically to be able to throw it on and go, we know these flattering finds don’t need much embellishment for night. But ironically, dressing them down can take a bit more…dressing. Still, covered shoulders and flats can work wonders for dressing down a little (brown) dress like this BCBG Max Azria sheath ($232). Check out the options below for two ways to get the most out of your cocktail attire.
Try a piece that contrasts the dress’s feminine, flowing lines like this double-breasted cropped jacket ($550), which has crisp details like an inverted pleat at the back and tab detail on the cuffs. Steve Madden’s Seeri sandals ($49) and this double-chain pendant ($34) give the ensemble a hip, earthy vibe. For a lighter, whiter look, throw a simple cotton cardigan ($58) over the dress, and pair with shell-and-bead accented sandals ($175) for a hint of beachwear chic. Banana Republic’s Greenwich Rattan Satchel ($178), made of straw and trimmed with leather, completes the summery style.

There are plenty of bras a woman absolutely must have in her lingerie drawer. A strapless, a convertible, something lacy and sheer for special occasions… But it's the bras we wear every day that we need to stock up on, keeping in mind that, as they say, variety is the spice of life. GapBody helps add a dash of daring and a pinch of pop to your wear-all-the-time trousseau, and they have some old standards on sale, too.
A girl can never have too many classic white t-shirt bras ($13, was $36) in her underwear arsenal. The Gap's spin on the t-shirt bra includes a convertible back (rig it up the standard way or with a racerback for some extra oomph) and a low-cut plunge, so you can wear it with your deep v-neck tops or undo a few extra buttons on your button-downs.
Nude, taupe, beige, and baby pink bras are OK for day-to-day wear, but every gal needs at least one zinger. This bright raspberry-hued nylon ultra push-up ($17, was $38) is uplifting on so many levels. Supportive underwires and LiquiLift padding will give your bust boost, while the secret knowledge that you're wearing a lipstick-pink bra will lift your spirits.
It's impossible to pull off a funky patterned bra under every outfit (hello, white tee faux pas!) but it's nice to have a few bras festooned with flowers or peppered with polka dots. This wildflower-patterned balconet bra ($13, was $39.50) is a contemporary take on your typical pink roses. Robin's egg, celadon, and violet on a midnight blue background are fresh and fun for those days when you wear a black top and want to spice things up a little (the smooth, seamless fit doesn't hurt matters, either!) For more bra picks, browse the SheFinds Best Bra Guide. More sales and deals:
Ugg-style boots are up to 50% off at Steve Madden—stock up!
Satiny Foley + Corinna dresses, tanks and tops are 70% off at ShopBop.

Everyone fab and famous absolutely could not stay away from the Met's Costume Institute Ball last night. The gala feted the opening of Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy. Although everyone was encouraged to dress in superhero-inspired garb, only a few took it to heart - namely Christina Ricci (who showed up in a bustier-type Wonder Womanesque ensemble and the head mistress herself, Anna Wintour, who was dressed in a fierce Chanel couture gown reminiscent of an impeccably dressed queen alien villain. However, we did spot three big trends on celebs shuffling into the party, and below are some of our picks for who rocked them the best: 1. One-Shouldered Gowns: Like we saw at the Oscars, the one-shouldered thing is still going strong, with stars like Kate Mara, Fergie, Liv Tyler, and Claudia Schiffer all sporting the look. Channel Fergie's classic glam style with this Calvin Klein matte jersey dress ($178). 2. Bright, Contrasting Shoes: In a surprising turn, stars were pulling focus away from their shiny, happy faces and towards their perfectly pedicured feet instead. Katie Holmes and Diane Kruger both opted for bold colored heels that popped against the colors of their gowns. These Louboutins ($795) are perfect in pink, but for a more purse-friendly pick, try these satin Jelissa heels ($100). 3. Fierce Red Lips: A no-fooling-around red mouth was spotted on many a leading lady last night. Both Posh Spice and Scarlett Johansson paired their red pouts with creamy frocks, while Maggie Gyllenhaal coupled bright lips with a subdued plum gown. Capture the va-va-voom effect with Dior Rouge's Action Red lipcolor ($27) (perfect for an evening of fashionable superheroes).
