It’s Wednesday and you know what that means: another review of Bravo’s new reality show, The Rachel Zoe Project. This week, we see what stress awards season can place on a top stylist and her crew as Rachel “comes undone” trying to style multiple events. Throw in the loss of a relative and an attempt to plan a cozy anniversary party for her husband and a couple hundred of her closest friends and we get to see a full-on meltdown.
Here’s what I still don’t understand: you see her cry in this episode. A little bough of hope springs forth when she starts to remove her makeup, but she removes everything BUT her eye makeup. Who does that? At this point, I assume there is something under all that liner and mascara that she REALLY doesn’t want us to see. I give up.
I think watching this show is starting to wear off on me, because I think I want to try a fur vest for fall (faux for me), especially this Gryphon The Pretender Vest ($830). It looks like real fur but I can rock it without enduring judgmental looks from my cat. For a little more Zoe magic, I’ll throw on these Accessories and Beyond Sparkle Elastic Bracelets ($88), and this Juicy Couture The Beau Watch ($250).
Stay tuned for next week, when we get a behind the scenes look at the Oscars and her assistants flip out yet again.

SheFinds Reader Question: Fell in love with this purple top. The necklace is pretty sweet too. Anyone come across this? Or something similar?
This top, shown here in an episode of Gossip Girl, was also spotted on Tyra Banks during one of her show tapings. The fabulous blouse, called the Mary, is a gorgeous confection of jersey and vintage scarf material and part of the remake/remodel spring/summer collection by hip New York retailer Zachary’s Smile.
Unfortunately, Zachary Smile is working on getting their web presence up and running, but if want to explore a similar look, try a similar top with embellished shoulders, like this Elie Tahari Violet Silk Jersey Paige Beaded Tank ($179) or this Development Plum Jersey Satin Trimmed V-Neck Top ($156), both from Bluefly.com. Similar impact, different spin on the look.

Lately, the fashion powers-that-be are starting to hint that unfortunately, the leggings ship has sailed. Lucky for us, though, the ultra-fashionistas do at least understand we'll need some time to mourn the passing of this beloved trend. And so, “treggings” were born.
These trousers + leggings sort of kill two birds with one stone. They are as comfortable as leggings and from afar, can be mistaken for skinny jeans. But there’s a catch: you wear them on their own. There is no little cover up for your butt and thighs, it is just you, out there on your own, in stretchy pants. Hmm…
They're showing up mostly in leather and velvet, worn with everything from over-the-knee boots to delicate ballet flats.
I think I'll stick to black tights for now, but for all you brave ones, here are a couple tregging-ish styles:

Some trends--say, the bob--are easy to pull off. Others require attitude. And Project Runway's queen of attitude has been sporting clumps of feathers in her hair. Apparently, she's not the only one. These things have been showing up at stores low and luxe, from the Plumage Hair Clip ($24) at Urban Outfitters to a Jennifer Ouellette Coque Feather Headband ($85) at Barneys.
Think you can pull it off? Don't pony up big bucks for this one. Try one of Forever 21's tasteful cheapies like the Feathered Headband ($4.80) or a Feathered Satin version ($4.80) instead. This is one trend you can clock with an egg timer.
Back in July we showed you what celebrities were backing their candidate of choice and now that the election date is rapidly approaching, and the debates are heating up, the rest of the world with disposable incomes has joined forces to make us want to buy swag supporting our candidates -- the fashion designers of course! All of our favorite designers have come together to create Runway to Change.
Rachel Roy's scarf supporting Obama will keep us nice and toasty as the fall comes rolling in ($95). DVF's Obama '08 Love Tote bag is just $75 and will carry all your campaign gear up until decision day in November. Tracy Reese lets the ladies show their support to their main man with this fitted long sleeve Obama 2008 t-shirt ($70).
Don't worry - we wouldn't dare leave out all the cool stuff McCain fans have created, too.
Get your Palinator maternity tee for ($35) in white or pink, your basic tee with Palinator silk screen of Sarah's face superimposed over the terminator's face ($16), or your "We Can Do It" tee with Sarah's face ($33.85). Wear one to your next debate party! Or even better, pass them out as party favors...

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means: another review of Bravo’s new reality show, The Rachel Zoe Project. This week, Rachel decides to test limits as we watch her whip her assistant into a lather for a last-minute client request, run herself ragged at Fashion Week, then try to hide two vintage shopping sprees from Rodger until AmEx calls her husband to basically inquire if his wife has been possessed.
We watch Rachel continue her whirlwind tour of New York Fashion Week, visiting Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marchesa, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. But our prayers are answered when Rachel asks her assistant if she looks like she’s going to Studio 54. Yes Rachel, you are wearing too much eye makeup.
I don’t know if it’s watching Rachel shop for an entire episode, but I usually can’t come away from this show without wanting something. This week, it’s the cobalt blue dress she wears to her designer visits. I’m grabbing this Rachel Pally Angelica Minidress ($216) to interpret this look for my own wardrobe. I’ve also been coveting her Chanel totes and think I might haul it over to Avelle (the new Bag, Borrow or Steal) to borrow this Chanel Large Shopping Tote ($111/week).
Whatever the case, I will be tuning in next week to continue to live vicariously through Rachel.
