Nautical Stripes Will Probably Never Go Away - And We’re Okay With That

Apr 22, 2008

Nautical clothing is such a timeless trend that no matter if it's in this season and out the next, it's sure to be back again soon. This season it's in. Lindsay takes it to the extreme with double nautical styles. And check out Selma looking like a pirate in her nautical top and head scarf. Style-star Posh has to be seen in every fashion trend every season - so of course here she is in sailor chic.

When I buy nautical inspired clothing, I tend to have less buyer's remorse than on other fads because I know I will eventually get my money's worth. But if you're still not sure how the look will fit in with your personal style, check out three great striped tops that won't make waves in your bank account. You can afford to wear these once and never again if you so choose.

This American Living tee ($20) throws out a bit of flair with a red trim at the neckline and shoulders and an embroidered log at the hip. Follow La-Lohan's style and scoop up this striped tank at Old Navy for just $8.50. Another chic option is this slub cami from the Gap ($16.50).

If you're looking to really splurge on this trend, then the Vince Rugby top ($78) is for you. There's also this great Katie Sweater Jacket ($90) that's framed by a romantic little ruffle at the cuffs and hem. Or if you want to shell out for a luxe cami, we suggest the Graham & Spencer wide-striped top ($110).

I've always had a soft spot for nautical striped shirts. I definitely think they'll always be in style.

I love nautical stripes! Abercrombie & Fitch has some sundresses for sale right now for only $15.90 at their outlet stores!

These days, finding a nautical-inspired shirt is soo hard!
