What: OnGossamer Luxury Liner Bikini, $19 Why: Some might consider period spotting a hush-hush topic, but to them, I say out with your old-school mentality and in with OnGossamer's new Luxury Liner underwear. Although us sophisticated, put-together, and on-schedule ladies are normally in control of our menstrual situations, we can't help the occasional early monthly visitor or embarrassing spotting situation. Which is where OnGossamer steps in. Touted as "Save the Day Lingerie", each pair of their new line of underwear has a strip of black stretch microfiber that is sewn in and extra-absorbent. The panties come in a variety of colors including nude and white, so you're not restricted to all-over black on those questionable days. And huge bonus: their panties are all seamless, so they disappear under all types of pants. OnGossamer makes their Luxury Liner collection in bikini, thong, and high-rise versions, so snatch up a pair of all three. Get Yours: barenecessities.com

"I have a style and jeweled panties aren't it," said Carrie Bradshaw before stepping onto the Dolce and Gabbana runway in this, tripping on her super-high heels, and then becoming fashion roadkill as Heidi Klum trampled over her.
The gown Carrie was supposed to wear before they swapped her outfit at the last minute looked a bit more like the florarl-motifed lingerie set seen below. In lieu of the upcoming Sex And The City: The Movie, Cosabella, Hollywood's preferred intimate apparel company, designed four sets of lingerie with the Sex And The City ladies as inspiration. From the lingerie company known for its comfortable, colorful, and diverse collections you can pick up these great pieces from barenecessities.com.
In college, I could remember wanting to be the Carrie of my group due to her fashion sense and to-die-for writing gig. The girl had s-t-y-l-e. Cosabella hit the nail on the head when designing the print for the Carrie Collection. I couldn't imagine Carrie, the carefree fashionista with a whimsical style all her own, in anything else. The collection features a balconette bra ($86), lowrider thong ($36), and bustier ($162) designed in Black Rose.
Now my roommate was the Samantha of the bunch. She spoke her mind, had more one-night stands than I could count with no regret, and lived for the conquer of a new man - and she was the only girl I knew who actually had a garter belt at 20. The sassy and sensational Samantha Collection includes an underwire bra ($76), lowrider thong ($33), and garter belt ($55) designed in a French Chantilly style lace fabric with fine microdot mesh detailing in a vibrant Passion Fruit.
I couldn't have been paid to be compared to Charlotte with her Park Avenue attitude and uber-conservative style - but you could pay me to wear these comfy cottons. Cosabella married Charlotte's feminine chic style and sweet innocent side into this classic designed camisole ($80), lowrider thong ($22), and long pajama pant ($100). Cosabella's take on Miranda seems to fit more in with the later seasons when she was dating the unbelievably hot Dr. Robert Leeds than the early seasons where we saw an occasionally androgynous Miranda. If I were a man, this is what I would hope a lawyer would be wearing under that tailored suit. The Miranda Collection is a set of confident and cosmopolitan pieces: a molded lace bra ($62) and a lowrider hotpant ($50) in a vibrant blue tulle with a contrasting scalloped lace trim in sky blue. It is a truth universally acknowledged that there are two kinds of bra-wearing women: those who like or don't mind underwires and those who hate them with a passion. There is rarely middle ground on this issue. Women who hate the underwire really hate it. I know because I'm one of them. The problem is that there are not that many wireless bras out there that are comfortable and supportive at the same time. And here's the best part—the bigger you are (be that in body type or cup size), the more likely you are to hate the underwire and less likely to find a good, supportive bra without it. It's a hard knock life. I found a couple of wireless bras that I really like: the Playtex 18 Hour Comfort Strap Wirefree Bra ($22) and the Bali Double Support Lace Wirefree Bra with Spa Closure ($14). The Playtex 18 Hour line doesn't always live up to its promises, but this particular bra has kept me comfortable for several hours at a time. The wide band helps support my breasts and doesn't dig into my, um, soft parts at the sides and back. Plus, it gives me a great shape. The Bali doesn't give as much support on the side, but makes a very good "comfort bra" for days when I'm less concerned with perkiness and more concerned with looking good while not being in pain. It's made with 8% spandex, thus it stretches and moves with me. So, SheFinds readers, do you love or hate the underwire? And, if you're wirefree, what is your favorite bra? We're putting together a guide to wireless bras and need your input! Write to us in the comments section and share your thoughts on the heated underwire issue, as well as your picks for greatest wireless bras out there. And check out SheFinds Guide to the Best Bras.

What: Yummie Tummie Tank, $58 Why: My stomach is the bane of my existence. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I must say, there is many a skinny jean that I can't zip due to the overfloweth of my middle. And I used to lose sleep over the fleeting fashion status of stomach friendly trapeze tops and baby-doll dresses until I came upon the Yummie Tummie Slimming Bodyshaping Tank Top. This miracle invention is unlike any piece of shapewear for your midsection I have ever tried. Why? Well, because it's actually comfortable. The Yummie Tummie has cotton panels at the bust and waist (the one at the waist is extra long so you can tuck it into jeans), so the only spandex induced suckage is where you need it most - right in the middle. This prevents the dreaded fat spill-over (also referred to as muffin top) because your entire midsection isn't unnecessarily squeezed from top to bottom. So in a Yummie Tummie, my stomach has nowhere to go but in - what a conquest. Get Yours: barenecessities.com

With the celebs all Spanxed out for awards season, it got me in the mood to explore the brave new world of skinnifying shapewear. Now like any self-respecting skinny-jean yet gourmet-food-loving gal, I own my share of Spanx, but I usually stick to the straight up Power Panty or the Tight-End Tights. I knew there were many more options out there and was eager to expand my collection (and hopefully shrink my tummy in the process). Unfortunately, temporary skinny doesn't come cheap, and buying Spanx in bulk can add up. So I freaked out when I found out that Spanx created a shapewear line called Assets that's now being sold exclusively at Target. For half the price of original Spanx, these pieces still do the trick when and where they need to. Check out some of my new faves:
The Assets Lucky Leggings ($12) give great support, and can be paired with a long sweater or chic tunic. For ultimate suckage under those little black dresses, try the Sensational Shaper ($20) - its high waistband is great for hiding the dreaded muffin top.
This Fabulous Footless Shaper ($10) is perfect for extra coverage under capris or long skirts in the upcoming warmer months. Get Yours: Target.com

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where that skin-tight Prada dress looked absolutely perfect the minute you slipped it on? Or the waistband of those Acne skinny jeans caressed your stomach ever so gently without the slightest pinch? Yeah right. Unfortunately, the real world is full of fashion that pinches, pulls, and mocks even the slenderest of bodies. Which is why God created shapewear! Amen! Thanks to cellulite-sucking spandex and gravity-defying underwire, we are free to try out a variety of styles, all the while knowing our bodies will look their tightest and most fabulous. So here are our top 5 picks for the most effective shapewear that's sure to show that Prada who's boss.
1. The Spanx Bra-llelujah! Front-Close Underwire Bra ($62) achieves the ultimate feat of boob coverage - it gives support while providing optimum comfort and a flattering shape. Thanks again, Spanx. 2. To get full bra support, tame your midriff, and eliminate back bulge, try the Unbelievabra ($75), which has the appearance of a cami, but is capable of so much more. 3. For a strapless option, try the Sassybax Strapless Torso Trim ($75) under evening dresses and sexy halters. 4. A must-have for any pants ensemble, the Spanx Tight End Footless Tights Panty Hose ($26) smooth unwanted lines in the hip, thigh, and butt. 5. It might be hard to believe that amid all of this reducing shapewear, there's actually a product to add to your voluptuousness. Bubblebuns offers padded underwear ($34) that will give you some oomph where you have none. Best Seller: Spanx Power Panty Shapewear Why they're flying off the shelves: Spanx Power Panties with Power Control is a confidence building and comfortable body shaper that makes you feel and look fabulous. Oprah loves her Spanx panties so much that she ditched her underwear for them! The high waistline silhouette smoothes midriff, tummy, thighs and rear and gives you a slim and streamlined figure without visible panty lines. What SheFinds Readers' say about Spanx: "Spanx reduce you one whole size! They leave no lines, so you can put them on with confidence and head out to a first date, the opera, work, or even to your own wedding! I introduced my mother to the legend of the Spanx. She didn't want to wear hosiery to my beach wedding and Spanx allowed her to have a tight rear and flat tummy while still feeling the sand between her toes!" "The Spanx Super Footless feels just a tad tighter on the tummy than regular control-top pantyhose but are footless and perfectly designed so that the bottoms don't roll up your legs, nor do they have a band that creates a bulge in your calves." "Spanx have changed my life - I wear the Control Top Fishnets , the Mid-Thigh Smoother under skirts and the footless under pants." You'll be thrilled to know that Spanx now has clothing with built-in slimming properties - try the Spanx Bod-a-Bing! Cropped Cargo Pants, Top, and Skirt.

I have a lot of guilty pleasures: Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, bad horror movies, Lifetime Movie Originals, celebrity gossip magazines, and Pop Tarts. However, my biggest fashion secret (and one I will admit to anonymously on a popular shopping website) is Spanx. God bless elastic and its power to smoosh my trouble areas into manageable proportions. I'd prefer my peers and dates to think that I did those extra crunches and passed on the Ben & Jerry's, but truthfully, the double-layer compression on the Hide-And-Sleek Panty is a lot stronger than my will power. Although Spanx do pose an interesting third-date conundrum, (Is it better to be lumpy or risk the exposure of super-size granny panties?) they are an everyday miracle worker for girls who can't quite make it to that 5 AM gym session. A few of my favorites: Hide-and-Sleek Slip: Some dresses require slips to prevent a girl from dressing...well...like Britney Spears and her penchant for over-exposure. Why not kill two birds with one stone and slim while you stay modest?
Slim Cognito Mid-Thigh Shaper: These stretchy pseudo-biker shorts are perfect for those suck-it-in-skinny jeans. Not only does the shaper prevent muffin-top, but it shaves down the thighs for pants that show every millimeter.
Reversible Tight-End Tights: Not only do you get Spanx wonderful slimming properties, but you get two colors in one pair of tights. And the extra layer of color makes the tights extra opaque and almost as thick as leggings.
