Fashion Trends That Will Not Die, But Maybe Sorta Should: Crimped Hair

My mother's photo albums surreptiously stop recording my image in the 1980s. I can only imagine that the neon, ruffled skirts, smiley face t-shirts, and granny boots didn't photograph well. And so, my painfully fashionable mother treated the decade like I do embarrassingly drunken nights on the town: If I don't remember it, it DID. NOT. HAPPEN.

And, although I do still harbor a nostalgia for Hypercolor t-shirts and Hulk Hogan, I wholeheartedly endorse this denial-heavy treatment of everything between 1979 and 1990.

Unfortunately, some young starlets just can't seem to leave 80s fashions alone.  (Yes, Lohan, princess of all things leggings, I'm talking to you.)  

Recently Kate Bosworth, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Fergie "The Duchess Scary Face" Fergulicious have been spotted out with crimped hair.  Yes, crimped hair.  That crispy, feathery process that left so many of elementary school and jr. high friends with giant crimping iron burns on their foreheads and necks. And we thought the perm comeback was bad enough..
