Fashion Week Diary: Tracy Reese
Category: Fashion News
Dear Diary, I love Tracy Reese. Not because of her girly, whimsical designs, or her affordably chic Plenty line, or because of her perseverance in the cutthroat fashion industry. But because she gave me a seat. Well, her PR people did at least. The Tracy Reese experience started out like a circus, with hoards of people lining up an hour before the intended start time. And I almost got suffocated on my way to check in by the impatient fashionistas. But once inside the Promenade, all became right with the world. I took my seat, peeked through my goodie bag, and began scoping the scene for celebs. Unfortunately, it was so incredibly dark, this did not prove to be an easy task. But I did manage to spot Vanessa and Angela Simmons (Run DMC's daughters), Fern Mallis (prez of 7th on Sixth and thus FW's Big Momma), and the utterly stunning Miss Universe and Miss USA. As far as the show, it was like Bonnie and Clyde on acid. 20's inspired ensembles in bright pinks, Ikat prints, and sequins were accented by modern beret-like headpieces, feathers, and lace-up booties. I saw a lot of drop waist dresses, high waisted trousers, oversized knits, and belted frocks. Overall, I was pleased - but again Tracy holds a carte blanche in my book. I'd be excited to see the models wear paper bags. Love, SheFinds
