Kick That Pay Cut In The Butt And Be A Frugalista
Category: Cool Sites Fashion
It’s that time in the business cycle when we fashion-conscious gals are aiming to spend a bit less to look just as good. For my part, I’m planning on drinking a (portable) smoothie during my lunch break next week so I can get down to Forever 21 and hit the racks without weekend shoppers jostling me left and right. As we’re coming into our Frugalista selves, we’ve been unearthing a few strategies to stay chic and composed on tighter budgets. If you’ve got more, be sure to tell us what they are in the comments section.
Buy Cheaper Stuff We’re all fans of a good deal here at SheFinds, and Forever 21 and Target are just two of our favorite places to find one. Nothing beats the selection and crazily low prices of Forever 21’s accessories, like these celeb-worthy sunglasses for only $5.80. And Target has a solid selection of well-designed clothes (we especially like their dresses), like this sophisticated but breezy black eyelet dress that costs $35. Together, they add up to a city-sleek summer ensemble for just over $40.
Buy Someone’s Old Stuff If you’re still searching for high-end pieces but don’t quite want to pay those high-end prices, consignment shops might be the way to go. Sites like Daisy Shop and Rodeo Drive Resale sell new or gently used designer clothes and accessories at huge markdowns.
The Gucci shoulder bag below costs $189.99 at Rodeo Drive Resale – but if you're shopping current-season Gucci, even the tiniest clutch costs more than three times that amount!

Buy Stuff On Sale At sites like Gilt Groupe and Rue La La, all you need to get into private sales that offer deep discounts on designers is the right link – they’re invitation only, but once you've signed up you can browse and buy to your heart's content. The week’s Gilt lineup includes Just Cavalli, Vivienne Tam and Rachel Roy.
