Kylie Cosmetics currently has a "C" rating from the Better Business Bureau. There was some conflict earlier this year when it was revealed Kylie's company received a F rating from the BBB. This was the result of many complaints regarding stolen or missing products. There were also issues regarding the quality of Kylie's lip glosses. Although the rating has since improved, the BBB's website cites failing "to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints" as one of the reasons for its current "C" rating.

You don't have to buy the whole Lip Kit anymore. The Kylie Cosmetics website started selling the matte liquid lipsticks and lip liners individually. This is awesome if you just want to try the lipstick. The single lipstick retails for $17 while the lip liner is $14. The lip kit sells for $29, so you'll save a whopping $2 if you buy them in the kit.

The brand does not test on animals. The website states that Kylie Cosmetics products are not tested on animals, and all shades of The Kylie Lip Kit (excluding Candy K) are vegan.

Kylie's liquid lipstick formula is NOT the same as Colourpop's formula. For a while, it was rumored that Kylie copied Colourpop's formula and that the products were even made in the same factory. She dispelled rumors by posted a picture on instragram with Colourpop's founders. The caption said: "Hanging out with the owners at @colourpopcosmetics we don't have the same formula or exact colors but they are my friends and they do have some bomb ass products that I love. Check them out #lipkitbykylie."

Kylie had to change the design of her box because customers were complaining their packages were being stolen. The distinctive packaging made the products a target. People were stealing the coveted lip kits and reselling the products online. The new box is completely black and is not branded on the outside, so it's less likely to be stolen in the mail.

Most of the product names have a meaning. For example, Candy was Kylie's middle school nickname and Dolce is the name of Kylie's childhood dog. Other shades, like Koko, are named after family members. The name Posie was chosen by a fan after Kylie displayed the shade on Instragram and asked for help naming it. You can find out more about meaning behind each shade's name here.

Kylie Cosmetics are exclusive to kyliecosmetics.com. If you are purchasing the brand on Amazon or eBay, beware of fakes! They are most likely a knockoffs. I have a friend who bought the Birthday Edition Lip Kit on Amazon and it turned out to be a knockoff that gave her a severe allegeric reaction!
