In light of the recent accusations made against Ellen DeGeneres, specifically ones that called out the talk show host for fostering a “toxic” workplace environment on her show, some celebrity friends of DeGeneres have began speaking out in support of the comedian.

Katy Perry took to Twitter to make her feelings on the matter known, and people are not happy about what she had to say.

The "Roar" singer tweeted, "I know I can't speak for anyone else's experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow."

She continued, "I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow."

This support comes after Ellen made her first response to the accusations. In an email letter to her staff, the 62-year-old wrote, ""On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' would be a place of happiness -- no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect."

She continued, "Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it's the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show."

Despite Katy's show of support, most fans are not convinced--and some are even disappointed with the singer for commenting on the matter at all.

One Twitter user replied to Perry, "ofc she's nice to you my darling but still she's been rude to her staff which is a big issue due the fact they contribute a lot to the show."

Another wrote, "Please remember that a person’s character is revealed far more by how they treat their inferiors than how they treat their equals or superiors."

Ashton Kutcher, who also spoke out in support of Ellen, has received similar feedback.

One person replied to the actor, "Ashton the point is not her team handled a celebrity but how their team behaved with their own team members... Get it?"
