15 Things To Do 15 Days Before Your Wedding

July 25, 2012 by Pauline Millard

The two weeks before a wedding is crunch time. It may seem as if you have a million things to do and not a lot of time to fit them all in. Deep breath. Use our guide to break everything down to a task a day and you’ll be able to handle it all.

15 Days To Go:  Pick up rings from jeweler: If you are having rings sized, engraved, etc.

14 Days To Go: Get on your dermatologist’s radar: For any last-minute skin disasters: if you want to get a chemical peel or microdermabrasion before the wedding, this isn’t the time to do it. You run the risk of having irritated on your big day. Stick to procedures you’ve tried before, that you know don’t irritate your skin.

13 Days To Go: Get your hair cut and colored: If something doesn’t work out the way you would like it to, there is time to get it fixed.

12 Days To Go: Finalize the seating chart: This is also a good time to print the escort cards and wedding programs.

11 Days To Go: Prepare a reception box: For things such as the guest book, cameras, champagne flutes, candles and designate someone to bring it to the venue.

10:Days To Go:  Purchase and wrap gifts for your attendants: Then put them where you just grab them for the rehearsal dinner. This is also a good time to assemble welcome bags for hotel rooms, so that someone can just drop them in each room.

9 Days To Go: Wear your wedding shoes around the house: To break those suckers in.  You can’t dance if you have blisters on your feet.

8 Days To Go: Get eyebrows professionally done: A week should be enough time to get any redness or irritation go down. Touch up with tweezers the day of your wedding.

7 Days To Go: Confirm with all your vendors: At least a week before the wedding make everything is order and that you are on the top of their minds. Confirm final payments, delivery times, etc. The DJ or band needs your musical selections, the caterer needs a guest count, and the baker needs what cake flavors you decided upon. Make sure you do this by phone, and not passively via e-mail. Even better, walk right into the florist, bakery, etc. and have an old school sit down. They’ll be happy to see you.

6 Days To Go: Pack bags for the honeymoon and make sure all paperwork, passports, etc. are in order.  Also be sure to designate someone to take your bags to the hotel you’ll be staying at after the wedding.

5 Days To Go: Stay off the salt and junk food: No need to be bloated after you just spent months making sure you could fit into that dress. Now is not the time to start stress-eating Funions.

4 Days To Go: Pick up your wedding dress and put all jewelry, lingerie, hosiery, etc in one place so it is ready to go: This will guarantee that no one has to make a wedding run to Walgreen’s on your behalf.

3 Days To Go: Get some exercise, if only to relieve stress:  The in-laws are coming! The in-laws are coming!

2 Days To Go: Prepare payment envelopes – including tips. Then earmark someone to hand these out to the appropriate vendors.

1 Day To Go: Get a manicure, pedicure and massage: Also, some sleep. Tomorrow’s the big day!
