Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve no doubt seen/drooled over/tried to validate purchasing Isabel Marant‘s wedge sneaker by now. The shoe, which comes in a wide variety of leathers and suedes, is the ultimate cool girl accessory–plus, it makes your legs look k-i-l-l-e-r.
The problem: It’s sold out. Everywhere. The shoe is only available on Net A Porter, Barney’s, La Garconne, and a few other select e-retailers, and shows no sign of being available any time soon. Several other designers (Steve Madden ($100), ASOS ($74.57), Jeffrey Campbell ($165) have hopped on the wedge sneaker bandwagon, and while we’re usually all of lower-budget versions of our favorite designer pieces, we think the similarities in some of these kicks cross the line.
Worse even, shady sites (we’re talking to you, shopisabelmarant.com–the designer’s official site is isabelmarant.fr) are touting knockoffs for as low as $220 (the real shoe starts at $660).
So what’s a girl to do? Join a wait-list with the peons, or buy a knock-off? We choose to wait (hey mom!) but would love to hear–what do you think?!
