Meghan's Messiah Complex
The biggest thing that Meghan Markle didn't realize came with royal life is royal rules. She was expected to abide by sets of rules that come from centuries of tradition, many of which didn't help her on her way to achieving her true desire of following in her late mother-in-law's footsteps to become "the best-known and most loved member of the royal family.
"She really did have a Messiah complex," one of Meghan's former staffers told Quinn. "I don't mean that in a critical way because all her big ideas were about doing good. She once said, 'What Diana started, I want to finish,' and we took that to mean she wanted to become a sort of globetrotting champion of the poor and marginalized. She has managed to do this to some extent, but she really wanted to do it as a princess and with the full backing of the royal family, but on a part time basis."

Millions Isn't Enough For Meghan Markle
One other unrealistic ideation that ultimately drove the former actress away from the royal family was how much money she'd really have. She quickly realized that royal life wasn't "all about castles, glittering balls and limitless wealth and ease," Quinn wrote.
A royal staff member revealed to Quinn that when Meghan married Prince Harry, "she expected a billionaire and she got a millionaire," which reportedly caused her to reassess how she felt "about this strange new family." And we all know what happened next...
