A lot of women can identify with me when I say I had a default makeup brand – the brand I always reached for, the one whose products dominated my cosmetics drawer. Blessedly, I one day got out of my makeup inertia and discovered lots of interesting brands. I can now count
Paint Cosmetiques among them. The creation of makeup artist to the stars,
Naieem Abdool, the “quintessentially hip” Paint Cosmetiques has an impressive range of nearly 50
eye and
lip colors.
But I wasn’t as enthralled with the foundation shades, which range from “Pretty,” a light ivory, to “Glowing,” a medium copper. Two products intrigued me most, including the multi-purpose cream stick called “
Glaze” that be used on lips, cheeks and eyes. This is perfect when you don’t have time to apply tons of different products, all requiring different brushes. Secondly, I like the liquid “
Quick Draw,” which can be used to convert powdered eye shadows into liquid eye liners. This is a satisfying find in itself. I’ve owned plenty of eye colors that although they didn’t suit me as shadows, would work as liners. But they weren’t water soluble and didn’t quite work right. Quick Draw fixes that problem.
