I have a toddler turning two in October, and she’s still sleeping in a crib.

This is partly because I’m trying to keep her in a crib as long as possible (given she hasn’t climbed out of it yet), but also because I took my time finding the perfect toddler/twin bed. Her room is adorably whimsical, complete with rainbow decor, light purple walls, a tiny rocking chair, and child-size bookcases. I wanted to find a twin bed that complements the vibe; more importantly the bed needs to be safe, functional, and affordable.

But balancing safety, quality, affordability, and style can be a tall order! That’s why I was thrilled to discover Max & Lily, a reputable company known for producing quality, affordable kids’ furniture that ranges from bunk beds to mattresses and storage solutions. Not only does Max & Lily offer a variety of super cute beds, their commitment to safety and quality construction means that I can feel confident in my purchase. I especially love that they feature non-toxic finishes and thoughtful construction (like extra tall safety rails) that other brands just don’t have.

If you need extra incentive to buy, you’ll save 5% on the purchase of any twin size single, loft or bunk bed when you use the code ML5 at checkout.

Below, I’ve rounded up just a few of my favorite Max & Lily twin beds.

Max & Lily Twin Loft Bed with Bookcase & Desk ($559.49)

In just a few years, I know my toddler will love this one.

That’s because the setup is more than a bed—it’s a space where your child can play, sleep, get comfy, and express themselves. The storage solutions, desk, and loft-style bed all give kids autonomy, while still being super safe. In fact, there’s a slat roll and metal support bar for added reinforcement and tall 14″ guardrails.

The design itself is flexible, as the ladder, desk, and shelving unit are all reversible. Let’s call it a bestseller for a reason!

Max & Lily Twin Over Twin Low Bunk Bed With Easy Slide & Play Curtain ($539.49)

How cute, right? I can just imagine any kiddo sliding their way out of bed in the morning.

As for the playhouse, it’s not an actual house, but a curtain (which comes in a variety of Firetruck, Farmhouse, and Princess designs). It lets your kid feel like they’re in a fort or a secret castle, and you can still easily check on them.

Like all Max & Lily products, the low loft bed is crafted from durable, knot-free solid wood to ensure long-lasting stability. Meanwhile, the slide has hand-hole details and a gentle curve for added safety. Love!

Max & Lily Twin Over Full Bunk Bed with Stairs & Trundle ($999.49)

In big families, bunk beds and trundles are a way of life. This one puts a fun spin on the classic, combining a bed, trundle, and bunk set-up that’s ideal for siblings and/or sleepovers. The stacked design frees up valuable floor space, without making kids feel cramped.

As always, safety is Max & Lily’s first priority. The beds are super sturdy and can support both parents and kids. Meanwhile, the staircase has grooved, anti-slip steps, along with a banister for safe, easy climbing.

Max & Lily Mid-Century Modern Twin Over Twin Low Bunk Bed ($449.49)

If you’re a parent to little ones, then you know your kids can’t be too high off the floor. At 48 inches high, the low height of both bunks will help keep young children safe, making this perfect for kiddos transitioning to a “big kid” bed. The top bunk also features tall guard rails to prevent anyone from falling out in the night.

I love the overall look and feel of this low bunk bed. With its two-tone white melamine and solid wood finish, it appeals to kids and adds a playful, modern touch to any bedroom.

Max & Lily Scandinavian Twin Bed ($249.49)

This twin bed is both fun and functional, and can be customized to any kid’s design preference. With its clean, neutral finish, it will also complement your overall decor. Pros include the panel headboard which gives great support for children who like to read in bed, along with the roomy storage space underneath the bed.

I’m already bookmarking this one for when my toddler gets a little older!
