We’ve come to love makeup designer Bobbi Brown for her natural approach to beauty. She’s been an open advocate for women to wear their glasses proudly – the designer herself rocks her own thick-framed pair – and she’s often offered tips for how to best make up the face when sporting specs. Heck, she even loves glasses so much that she even launched an
entire makeup collection inspired by tortoise shell glasses. So it seems only appropriate that Brown’s newest venture would be into eyewear. The beauty maven announced that she will launch a line of optical frames and sunglasses for spring 2014 – her first move outside of beauty.
Said Brown about the collection:
As a makeup artist, I have looked at women’s faces for over 20 years and believe that my beauty expertise will translate naturally into eyewear, identifying the best silhouettes and colors for a woman’s face shape, skin tone and lifestyle. This is a new, innovative approach to interpreting eyewear.
It seems like a popular time to be moving into eyewear: Stella McCartney‘s first optical line drops in March,
Lanvin entered the glasses game last year and Bally and House of Holland launched eyewear last fall. It’s the right time to embrace your lenses, ladies!
Though no images have been released yet of the collection, we are excited to see the end result. Will her signature rectangular frames be incorporated in some way? And will she coordinate eye colors and beauty products with the line? We will keep you updated as info is released.
