When it comes to my hair, I have always gotten compliments on how long and thick it is. Truth be told, it’s one of the things I love most about myself. But what many people don’t know is that my scalp is far from perfect. It can get pretty dry and flaky, especially in cold weather, and I’m always researching new ways to hide the fact that I’m a bit self-conscious about it. As you can imagine, I’ve tried a bunch of at-home and professional remedies, but nothing really got the job done. Until I tried Briogeo’s Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment and the Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager, that is.
Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment ($32)
Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager ($16)
My coworkers had been raving about Briogeo’s products for a while now, so I was really excited to see what all the hype was about. The part that intrigued me the most about the scalp treatment was the ingredients. The blend of charcoal and tea tree oil not only draws impurities from the scalp, but it also reduces itchiness and scalp irritations. Who knew?!
I started using the scalp treatment and massager about a month ago and let me tell you, my scalp hasn’t been the same since. The combination of these two products worked together to not just hydrate my scalp, but it also helped to detoxify my hair of product buildup. My thick hair holds product for a long time, so this was a game-changer for me. Since I started using the scalp treatment and massager, my scalp has been itch- and flake-free. #finally
I was initially a little intimidated to change up my hair care routine because I am not a hair expert. I was worried that I wasn’t going to know how to use the products and if I didn’t use them correctly, it wouldn’t make the difference I was hoping for. Luckily, the scalp treatment and massager are actually super easy to use.
First, I parted my hair into sections. I applied 1-2 drops of the treatment to each section, massaging it in each time before going on to the next section. You don’t rinse this product out, so be sure to use it after you wash your hair, but before styling.
As I mentioned earlier, I decided to pair the treatment with the scalp massager. You don’t need this for the product to work– you can just use your fingers to massage it in–but I feel this helped to get it deep in the roots and evenly disperse it. An added bonus is that while you are applying the treatment, the massager is also working to increase scalp circulation and stimulation.
I will definitely be keeping these products on repeat all winter long to make sure that my scalp stays healthy and free of product build-up. If your scalp is in need of some serious revival, I definitely recommend adding these into your routine. You’ll notice a difference right away.
