The good news: Achieving a plump pout does not require a visit to the plastic surgeon’s office. There are plenty of quick, at-home tricks that will help make your lips look fuller. And they’re much easier on your budget than injections. Plus, by using a less invasive method, you can see results just as quickly sans the recovery time.

Contour your lips

Contour is a huge trend in beauty and makeup right now – so why would it be any different for your lip routine? Updating your go-to lip look to achieve a fuller pout is completely doable, and the results are instantaneous.

Matin, celebrity makeup artist and non-toxic beauty advocate, tells Byrdie all the best lip lining tips: "Use a shade that's just deeper than the shade of your lips. I'm filling in the contours of the lips, not all the way around, coloring in the outsides by basically shading it. I'm leaving the inside almost clean."

Then, choose a lighter lipstick shade to fill in between the shading. "The lighter the color lipstick you use, the plumper the lip look. Darker lipsticks make your lips look smaller, while lighter lipsticks make them poutier," Matin explains.

However, if you're going for a more natural look and want to skip the makeup, contour might not be the right choice for you. Luckily, there's another option that's just as straightforward.

Try essential oils

Essential oils are another great way to plump your lips without the pain (or price) of injections. Naturopathic doctor Tess Marshall, N.D., explains that specific types of essential oils can stimulate the lips and boost circulation, resulting in a fuller pout. "Even unnatural products use these ingredients for their properties," she tells MindBodyGreen.

She suggests cinnamon, cayenne pepper, or peppermint essential oils as natural stimulants.
