Celebs Bared It All At The 2020 CMT Awards—These Mini Dresses Are INSANE!
October 22, 2020 by Hannah Kerns
The CMT Awards is always an exciting night for country music, and this year was no different. Even if the show itself looked a little different.
The fan-voted show is usually held in the summer, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. And, with safety in mind, the show was taken outdoors this year instead of being held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The outdoor show included performances by country royalty and pop sensations, featuring Jimmie Allen + Noah Cyrus, Kelsea Ballerini + Halsey, Luke Combs + Brooks & Dunn, Morgan Wallen, Sam Hunt, and Shania Twain.
And although the show might have looked a little different this year, the most crucial aspects remained: killer performances, fan-voted winners, and stunning red carpet looks.
Specifically, it seemed that every country singer was determined to find the most flattering mini dress for their return to the red carpet–and the effort definitely paid off!
Here are our favorite looks:
Kelsea BalleriniKelsea Ballerini definitely dressed to impress in this sliver mini dress. The vintage Tom Ford blouse (worn as a super short dress) was the perfect red carpet look, and we’re not the only ones who immediately thought of a disco ball when we saw her sequin-studded dress choice. She paired the dress with a pair of sparkling heels from Rene Caovilla.
The mini dress featured a mock turtleneck, bat sleeves, and a low-cut back. Not to mention a shorter than short hemline!
All in all, the outfit reminded us exactly why we were missing red carpet events the past couple of months–the wardrobe envy, of course!
Sarah HylandSarah Hyland, who helped host the evening, donned the flattering mini dress for presenting the award for Collaborative Video of the Year (which went to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani for their duet “Nobody But You”).
The Greta Constantine mini dress showed off Hyland’s slim frame and her long legs, especially since she paired the dress with a pair of silver Christian Louboutin heels.
Karen FairchildThe Little Big Town singer stunned the red carpet in this baby blue mini dress. The Alexandre Vauthier dress accentuated Fairchild’s slim figure; plus, the asymmetrical hemline added a fun touch to the look.
Kimberly SchlapmanKimberly Schlapman, another singer in Little Big Town, was also dressed to impress last night. She opted for a black mini dress from Versace that featured a sheer overlay and beautiful flower detailing.
The group might have gone home empty-handed last night after losing out on their two nominations, but they definitely brought a lot to the show. The group’s performance of their hit song “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” got all of their fans talking.
