Although the Fall 2023 shows that took place in New York, London, Milan, and Paris gave us *so* many new and exciting trends to play with, that doesn’t mean that we are strictly limited to those trends over the next few months, as there are quite a few other more niche and dare we even say nostalgic ones that are seriously blowing up right now!
We can’t seem to look at a red carpet, open Instagram, or peek celebrity street style photos without seeing some of the below micro trends that are a little bit more unconventional and unexpected – and that makes us love them even more! Here are four micro trends we predict are going to really take off over the next few months:
Tube Dresses
Tube dresses are one of the 90s styles we are so happy to see make a reappearance. These have been popping up on the red carpets and streets in equal measures, and Emily Ratajkowski is just one of the style mavens who proved just how good they can look when worn casually with a pair of sneakers thanks to the red hot version she was snapped in while visiting the Big Apple earlier this year. These figure-flaunting pieces come in all different lengths too, so you can wear super mini versions or mid and maxi versions too, while also dressing them up with heels or even boots in these winter months – the choice is yours!

Although we saw this silhouette a lot in the summer and will no doubt see tube dresses return in spring/summer 2023 to pair with cute sandals and other open-toed shoes, now is also a great time to wear them with added layers and over-the-knee boots, perhaps finishing off with the next trend we’re going to talk about!

Maxi Coats
A far more weather appropriate trend – and one we and anyone else who is permanently chilly can get on board with! Maxi coats are the chic and fashion forward way to keep out the chill this season (just check out the latest Saint Laurent collection if you don’t believe us!) if enormous puffer jackets are a little too casual for the occasion.

From Simone Ashley to Kylie Jenner the A-listers have been really embracing this floor-sweeping trend, and it’s only going to get more popular over the next few months when the weather gets even colder. Although we would recommend accessorizing with something a little warmer than the bodysuit the Kylie Cosmetics founder wore with her Loewe maxi coat if you *actually* want to stay warm!
Ruffles
Ruffles have had a bit of a makeover this season, and appear on sexier and more modern pieces as opposed to overly feminine, Bridgerton-inspired ones. Although of course there’s nothing wrong with getting sartorial inspiration from the Regency era!

Anya Taylor-Joy blew us away with a bold cobalt blue leather and latex dress with an asymmetric hem and ruffle detailing from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2023 collection when she attended the London premiere of The Menu a few weeks ago; and we’re still obsessed with every single part of it!

Parachute Pants
The 90s called yet again, and we are more than happy to answer! Parachute pants haven’t really changed much since the MC Hammer days, and some of our favorite A-list trend-setters from Bella Hadid to Hailey Bieber have been spotted in them recently! Hailey even wore a hot pink pair to husband Justin Bieber’s concert in the summer, which we were so obsessed with!

Dress them down with sneakers or dress them up with stilettos, there is no wrong way to wear parachute pants in 2022!
