Nicole Kidman In Vintage Chanel
Nicole Kidman loves a Chanel dress; and we love seeing her in them! The Roar actress surprised us all when she broke the fashion rules and re-wore the exquisite Chanel Haute Couture gown she donned for her Chanel No. 5 commercial, which was directed by Baz Luhrmann and aired in 2004. The soft pink silk tulle dress with a racy slit was as romantic as it was daring and dramatic. According to Vogue, the gown was embroidered with 250 pink ostrich feathers, had over 3,000 silver crystals and sequins and featured a four-meter feathered train. The Nine Perfect Strangers actress finished off with some black heels and Harry Winston cluster diamond chandelier earrings and a ring.
Talking about her decision to give the dress another outing, the Big Little Lies star told Vogue: "I have the most indelible memories of fittings with Karl in the atelier, and I loved witnessing his dedication to his craft. I remember his laugh when he first sketched the dress and handed me the sketch. He always made me laugh. He designed a number of dresses for me, but I think this is the most spectacular."
Anne Hathaway In Atelier Versace
Anne Hathaway made her first Met Gala appearance in five years on Monday evening. We're so glad she made her first appearance since 2018, as her absence would have been a complete travesty, because the world deserved to see the Oscar-winner in her breath-taking cutout Atelier Versace dress!
The Devil Wears Prada alum – with the help of Donatella Versace, of course – brought new life to the iconic Versace safety pin dress, as Anne wore a sultry white tweed version featuring pearl accents and floral appliqué detailing on the bust, as well as a daring thigh-high slit. We love how iconic Versace and Chanel details have been blended together to create this one-of-a-kind look! The Eileen actress went bold and dramatic with her hair and makeup too, as such a look deserves, and we are obsessed!
Kylie Jenner In Haider Ackermann For Jean Paul Gaultier
While many celebs went for the black and white color palette in honor of Karl, or failing that, more neutral tones, many other A-listers went in the totally opposite direction. Kylie Jenner was one of those people, as she went for a bold red custom Haider Ackermann for Jean Paul Gaultier dress which featured an enormous thigh-high slit and one long sleeve.
We're so glad to see that there was no truth in the rumors that the Kardashian/Jenner family weren't invited to this year's Met Gala! The Kylie Cosmetics founder accessorized with red heels and styled her hair in a fierce updo with some hair framing her face on one side and tucked behind her ear on the other side.
Priyanka Chopra In Valentino
Another celeb sticking to the black and white color palette was Priyanka Chopra. But despite adopting the same color palette as many other celebs on the white carpet, the Citadel actress most certainly did not blend in! Priyanka stunned in a strapless black Valentino dress, complete with white opera gloves (we knew they would make at least one appearance on this carpet!) and a dramatic cape attached to them.
Priyanka accessorized with black platform heels and some sparkling diamond jewelry, including a woven chain necklace with a blue crystal pendant.
Salma Hayek In Gucci
The Magic Mike's Last Dance star turned heads for all the right reasons at the 2023 Met Gala in a beyond-stunning scarlet Gucci gown that had it all! Salma Hayek and Gucci is a match made in heaven! The gown featured pearl off-the-shoulder straps, a shiny corset bodice, and a voluminous ruffled skirt which also had a super-daring thigh-high slit. The slit was a little different than the conventional slit, as instead of revealing Salma's bare skin, it actually revealed some lace underlay.
Salma wore her long dark hair in a low pony accessorized with three red flowers. She chose to forgo any necklaces to let the dress command all the attention, and just added some dazzling earrings which were very visible thanks to her low pony.
