The article states, "The reason the omega-3 found in salmon is so great for skin, Nazarian explained, is because it helps to calm inflammation, which can lead to a breakdown of collagen and elastin, both of which keep skin looking youthful."
Nazarian continues, explaining how another chemical compound in salmon, astaxanthin, has anti-aging benefits: “That helps with the same sort of thing ― creates more collagen, calms inflammation, [and is] also a fantastic anti-aging agent.”
Sweet Potato
Sweet potatoes are another anti-aging food that are a great addition to any diet. According to Healthline, "Sweet potatoes are rich in anti-aging copper, which aids in collagen production."
Egg Yolks
Egg yolks are an excellent addition to your diet if you are hoping to prevent signs of aging because they contain Vitamin D3.
According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, "These compounds [found in Vtamin D3] have been shown to prevent UV-induced cell death."
Tuna
Tuna is also known for its skin benefits.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information explains, "Generally, tuna contains high concentrations of selenium and antioxidants, which serve to remove free radicals, and is known to delay skin and body aging. In addition, unsaturated fatty acids in tuna help to maintain the natural glossy look of skin, and increase skin elasticity, providing moisture for dry skin."
