Potato Chips
Potato chips may sound tempting, but you should probably avoid them.
"In general, eating chips and similar fried, fatty foods can lead to an unhealthy diet, resulting in weight gain and negative effects on your health...They also contain small amounts of fiber, protein and other nutrients. Chips are typically served salted or flavored, giving them a high sodium content," Livestrong explains.
Ice Cream
Ice cream is another food that you should probably avoid if you are trying to lose weight.
"Ice cream is a carb-heavy food, and eating a lot of refined carbohydrates results in belly fat deposition," Edwina Clark, RD, APD tells Eat This, Not That!.
Candy Bars
Because of their small portion size, candy bars might seem like a relatively good snack option for those hoping to lose weight.
Unfortunately, the small portion sizes add up as most people go back for more when snacking on these sweets.
White Bread
White bread is another important food to avoid if you want to lose weight.
Because it is made from refined carbohydrates and processed grains, white bread has a low fiber content. This means that it will not fill you up as effectively as whole grain bread--making it more likely that you will eat it in excess.
