Any time you lay your phone on a towel in direct sunlight in the summer, leave it in a hot car too long, or charge it in an extremely cold room, you are exposing its lithium-ion battery to extreme temperatures that slowly degrade it. Apple recommends keeping your phone between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep a vigilant eye over where you charge it, as well, since the combination of your environment and charging can boost its internal temperature.

Believe it or not, frequently closing your apps isn’t necessary, and it can use up battery power.

If you can remember to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth when you leave the house, you will save your battery so much stress and life. As you travel to different places, your phone will try to connect with whatever WiFi source it can pick up. Considering how you may not even be aware this is happening, you may have no intention of using WiFi, so your phone is working harder for absolutely no pay-off.

Going to Setting > Battery will help pull up a list of apps that are using the most battery power on your phone. Many of us find similar perpetrators like social media apps (Facebook and Instagram are major battery-draining players), as well as apps that use GPS and are resource-intensive, like games.
