The best time to get your metabolism revved is in the morning. Many people swear by exercising in the A.M. to get their metabolism up and running. But if morning workouts aren’t your thing, don’t worry, there are nutritious and detoxifying drinks you can have before breakfast that work just as well!

Detox drinks are a great way to fuel your body with healthy ingredients that are rich in vitamins, nutrients, and minerals–and no, we’re not talking about a green juice that will solve all of your problems. These drinks will give your body and your metabolism a healthy boost to get things running to burn calories.

When Beyoncé had to lose weight for Dreamgirls, the first thing she had in the morning was a glass of hot water, lemon, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. 

 

The recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of freshly-squeezed lemon juice. 2 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup, 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper and 10 ounces of pure water. 

 

Queen Bey drank this detox juice to replace her meals to get into shape. We don't recommend depriving yourself of food, but this does make a good morning drink to get the metabolism running. Just make sure you're eating a healthy, well-balanced breakfast, too!
