Once Apple raised the minimum app size to 4 GB about 10 years ago, iPhone users were faced with a new dilemma: are all of the apps they know and love worth the consumption of storage space on their devices.
Some apps take up a whole lot of space. And when your space is eaten up by apps, your phone lets you know by reducing its ability to complete tasks, such as taking photos and videos and downloading large files. The only way to gain back storage space is to buy it — but how many times can you continue doing that? — or getting rid of the storage-hogging culprits on your device.
Deleting media is always a great idea to save space — but so it trimming the number of apps on your phone. Start by considering deleting these six apps that take up so much space on your iPhone.
SnapchatIt’s not your imagination: Snapchat takes up so much more space than it used to. This app downloads shared videos and photos by default, and before you know it, your phone has stored so many additional media files that you’ll never look at again. You can play with some of the settings in Snapchat to keep this to a minimum, or consider deleting the app if it isn’t one you think you’ll miss.
