Sometimes, trying to maintain a healthy diet while staying on a budget can be difficult, with certain health food items costing a lot more than a few junk food favorites. However, with a little guidance from some experts, health enthusiasts, and some good deals, it’s easier than you think.

ALDI is an underrated grocery store for when it comes to shopping for healthy food, as they have a lot of budget-friendly staples and specialty items that can help not only keep your body in shape, but also your wallet. Bobby Parrish, a TikTok creator and health food shopping enthusiast, recorded a video sharing six great ALDI items that can help you maintain a nutritious diet and save a few bucks in the process. Check them out below!

1. Microwaveable Quinoa and Brown Rice Packets

If you're not a fan of making rice or quinoa on the stove, but still want their filling and nutritious benefits, this is the perfect product for you.

In his video, Bobby explains that brown rice and quinoa are "nutrient-dense" grains, and the specific ALDI product is seasoned with organic olive oil, sea salt, and garlic, making the product a real "time saver."

"Yes, please," says Bobby in his video as he points out that the price of the eight-ounce package of brown rice and quinoa was only $2.29.

2. Organic Grass-Fed Ground Beef

Ground beef is a great food item to cook with if you're trying to stay in shape, as it's packed with protein. Grass-fed beef is also known to be packed with even more nutrients than factory-farmed beef.

However, some consumers feel the need to stay away from grass-fed beef, as it can often be expensive. On the other hand, Bobby managed to find a package of organic, 85% lean grass-fed ground beef for just $5.19 at ALDI.

He compared it to a package of generic ground beef that he called "GMO beef" and saw that it was only 20 cents less than the organic beef, making it an easy decision for him as to which one he thinks his audience should buy.

3. Pasture-Raised Eggs

Buying eggs can be tricky today, given the inflation prices and the recent bird flu crisis. However, Bobby points out that you can still find good deals at ALDI, and he highly recommends buying a specific carton of eggs they offer if you still want to eat them frequently.

Bobby advises his viewers to stay away from the store's "organic cage-free eggs," as he calls that label a "marketing gimmick," and that those chickens likely never go outside.

"Pasture-raised chickens live outside almost all year round and have more nutritional content because they're eating bugs, worms, and get more sunshine," he explains.

4. Chickpea Rotini

If you love having the occasional at-home "pasta night," and don't want to give it up, then you're in luck, as the health food creator found a "Bobby-approved" pasta product that's packed with protein and nutrients.

ALDI's package of chickpea rotini, which is only around $3.00 a box, contains 11 grams of dietary fiber and 19 grams of protein per serving.

"Yes, please," says Bobby as he examines the package of healthy pasta.

5. Organic Marinara Sauce

You'll need something to go on top of that chickpea pasta, and some marinara sauce brands like Rao's are delicious, but extra pricey. Bobby points out how great the ALDI brand of organic marinara sauce is, as it contains "clean ingredients" like organic tomato puree, organic dried onion, basil, etc., and costs significantly less than some more popular sauce brands.

"Mangia!" says Bobby in an Italian accent as he talks about pairing the affordable sauce and pasta together. Eat it up and enjoy!

6. Coconut Cashew Crisps

If you've been reading about those five savory items, wondering if a sweet treat would ever be listed, you're in luck. Bobby discovered a cookie-like treat created by ALDI that contains natural, nutritious, and delicious ingredients.

ALDI's Coconut Cashew Crisps are great for those who like a crunchy, sweet snack and are even appropriate for those who want to follow a paleo diet, which consists of extra clean foods, as they're made of only five ingredients: coconut, cashews, coconut sugar, cassava flour, and sea salt.

"Eight cookies only have six grams of paleo coconut sugar," says Bobby.

It's great to know that there are still a lot of healthy proteins, carbs, sauces, and snacks that won't cause you to break the bank while adding them to your cart. Which one of these items do you want to try?
