Abdallah Candies recall
Abdallah Candies is recalling 8 oz boxes of their sea salt almond alligators that were sold across the country. Recalled boxes have lot code 0315 labeled on the bottom. "The boxes do contain sea salt almond alligators but have an incorrect ingredient label," the company wrote, warning that "sea salt almond alligators contain almonds as an ingredient, which was not declared on the ingredient label."
As the company notes, "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products."
The impacted candies were sold between March 1 and March 29 in specialty retail stores, grocery stores, and other retail outlets, the company states.
Luckily, no adverse effects have been reported. However, it's important to take recalls like this seriously, especially if you have a food allergy. If you have one of these recalled boxes of candy, the FDA urges you to refrain from eating the product and to "destroy or return the product to the place of purchase."
For more information, you can contact Abdallah Candies at 952-890-4770 or 800-348-7328 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central time, Monday through Friday.
Staying on top of recalls like this is an important part of keeping you and your family safe and healthy. Other recent recalls include mislabeled Great Value cashews and Kroger salad bowls.
