Yikes! 6 Popular Acne Products Recalled Due To A Cancer-Causing Chemical

In a concerning development for those using acne-fighting products, six popular treatments from major brands like La Roche-Posay, Proactiv, and Walgreens have been recalled due to elevated levels of benzene, a known cancer-causing chemical.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a recall notice for multiple lots of six acne treatment products, including Walgreens Acne Control Cleanser, Proactiv Skin Smoothing Exfoliator, SLMD Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Lotion, and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment.
