Adam Lambert continues to impress fans with his 60-pound weight loss! The 42-year–old American Idol alum showcased his transformation in a new Cabaret music video, where he put his unique twist on a classic musical theater song.
Lambert is currently performing in the Broadway revival as the iconic Emcee, using his powerful voice in the highly praised revival of the famous 1966 musical at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.
After watching the new video of Lambert singing “I Don’t Care Much,” the beloved Act II ballad by John Kander and Fred Ebb, fans flocked to YouTube to commend his dedication, weight loss, and exceptional vocal talent.
One gushed: “He sounds so effortless. It’s hard to hear other people perform this and don’t sound as flawless as when he sings this!” Another added that Lambert clearly “worked very hard” on his physical transformation and vocal techniques to play the Emcee. Someone else replied: “Born to be on Broadway….stunning.” An additional user noted: “Every movement, every expression and gesture. He’s just as captivating to watch as he is to listen to. Such a uniquely special artist. Extraordinary!”
Back in November, the “Whataya Want from Me” artist stopped by the Today Show set in New York City, donning a bright blue suit that emphasized his slimmer figure and radiant glow. He also talked about stepping into his first Broadway role in Cabaret, succeeding Eddie Redmayne, and how he intends to infuse the character with his own unique flair.
Lambert also shared insights on his performances with Queen. This comes after the “If I Had You” hitmaker opened up to his 1.9 million Instagram followers about losing weight after taking Mounjaro and Ozempic. According to Heavy, Lambert revealed in an Instagram Live video in March that he had been using the type 2 diabetes medication Mounjaro for roughly eight months, resulting in a 60-pound weight loss.
Lambert also informed his fans that he was initially prescribed Ozempic to manage his blood sugar levels, but had to discontinue it due to its severe side effects, prompting the switch to Mounjaro. Lambert told viewers that he felt “amazing” and “incredible” at the time. He noted: “When I switched to Mounjaro, a lot of those symptoms went away and I had hardly any side effects and I feel incredible.”
The Grammy nominee continued: “I feel better, I feel more confident. I feel like my actual body feels better, like my digestive system feels more regulated.” He also reportedly shared that his mental health had improved to such an extent that he no longer needed his antidepressants. Lambert, as fans know, has candidly shared his battles with fluctuating weight over the years.
As reported by RadarOnline, Lambert revealed in a 2009 Sirius Radio interview that he weighed 250 lbs in high school. “That creates some stuff … some body image stuff, some confidence issues,” he recalled. Lambert stepped onto the Broadway stage for the first time on September 16, 2024, taking on the role of the Emcee. Fans can now see him perform live at the Kit Kat Club until March 30, 2025.
