Your Jaw Is Going To Drop When You See Adam Levine Now–He’s Unrecognizable!

Adam Levine is a blonde now and he’s practically unrecognizable after stepping out with his family to enjoy in Montecito last week. The 42-year-old Maroon 5 frontman has traditionally worn his hair as its natural brunette shade, but the rocker decided to try out a new look with some platinum strands after announcing his intentions on Instagram last month. Initially debuting his new do on social media in April, Levine is clearly very into his look–and so are we!

Hopping on Instagram on April 13, Levine shared that the inspiration behind his newest hair change was, in fact, the Lord of the Rings franchise. The singer initially expressed the sentiment to dye his hair on his story in the morning, writing “I think I wanna bleach my hair a Gandolf white-ish silver…” Several hours later Levine came back onto the platform to show the results, posing at different angles to show off his bold new hair.

This is not the first time the Maroon 5 singer has leaned into lightening, and in 2014 and again in 2018 he dyed his hair platinum blonde which he admitted his wife, Behati Prinsloo, loved. In 2018, Adam told Jimmy Kimmel, “I ran it by her, because I want her to want to [love it]… so of course but why would you do anything that would put you in a less than advantageous position when it came to the person you want to want to sleep with you?! You want that from them.” It was obviously a hit if he did it again!

Levine loves experimenting with his style as well as his hair, posting a photo to Instagram on April 6 where he posed hand in hand with his wife and two children, all wearing identical tye dye maxi dresses. The rocker captioned the image, “girls just wanna have fun,” as he showed off his heavily tatted back, hair still brunette. We wonder what hair color he’ll try out next.
