Adam Sandler’s children are invested in his wellbeing. At the New York City premiere of his Netflix comedy special, Adam Sandler: Love You, on August 20th, the Happy Gilmore star, 57, shared in an exclusive interview with People Magazine that his daughters, Sadie, 18, and Sunny, 15, have been urging him to prioritize his health.

Sandler showcased a noticeably slimmer figure at the event, having shed 25 pounds for his role in Spaceman, released back in February. This impressive transformation was largely driven by his daughters’ persistent encouragement for him to adopt a healthier lifestyle. “They always look out for me and my health just like I used to with my dad,” Sandler sweetly told the outlet. The Saturday Night Live alum shares his two daughters with his wife Jackie Sandler, whom he wed in 2003.

Adam Sandler Says His Children Look Out For His Health As He Flaunts His Noticeable Weight Loss

Sandler went on, telling People: “You go, ‘Man, I want this guy around,’ so I used to scream at my dad to quit smoking, and my kids scream at me to just calm down and try to eat a little more like a normal person.” Sandler also recently disclosed during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that his eldest daughter, Sadie, encouraged him to reconnect with the trainer who had worked with him on the 2008 film You Don't Mess with the Zohan.

"I used to take working out so serious ... and now I can't f—g do it," the Murder Mystery actor said. "I play hoop and then I eat. Every time I'm eating I'm going, 'What are you doing, man? You don't need to do this.' I can't stop, just got a little bit of thickness all over."

Regarding maintaining his current shape, he went on: "Now it's f—g rough. My kids, one daughter, Sadie's always saying, 'Dad, get the train from the Zohan. Why would you ever give that up? Why did you stop?'" he said, before noting that he told his daughter "it's a lot of work." The comedian continued: "I just can't get back in there ... She's right about everything [but] I don't promise her. I go, 'Let me think about that; that's a good idea.’”

In 2020, Sandler disclosed that he started intermittent fasting, spurred by the startling realization of his pandemic-induced weight gain during a doctor's appointment. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sandler recalled: "I took my shirt off, I stripped down to my underwear, took my sneakers off 'cause I didn't want the extra pounds from that."

The Bedtime Stories star continued: "And I stood at the doctor's scale, and you know how those are pretty accurate. I put it at a spot I thought it would be good, but I had to take that big thing and move it to the next spot… and it went pretty high, and I was very sad with myself. During the hours Sandler permitted himself to eat, he confessed to making poor dietary choices.

"I did the intermittent fasting… I allowed myself six hours a day to eat and just get so excited during those six hours that I ate a lot of pizzas," he shared. The father of two added: "I kept looking at the clock going, ‘Alright, you got 40 minutes left to eat,’ and I would go bananas."
