Adele has just made history by appearing on the cover of both British Vogue and American Vogue‘s November issues – and she looks utterly sensational on each one! This is the first time that the same person has appeared on the British and American versions of the fashion bible simultaneously – and we couldn’t be happier that the honor has gone to the one and only Adele!
Edward Enninful, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, writes: “For this historic moment, both magazines have gone all out: two fashion stories captured in two cities, two wide-ranging interviews, one with a British writer, one with an American writer, for a spectacular transatlantic takeover by one of the biggest-selling female artists of the 21st century.”

The British Vogue cover – which has literally given us goosebumps, by the way – was shot by Steven Meisel, and is a close-up of the 33-year-old singer’s gorgeous glowing face. She is rocking her signature feline flick eyeliner, of course, and her trademark voluminous bouncy hair that we still, to this day, are obsessed with. How can one person’s hair be that bouncy?! The “Someone Like You” singer is wearing a canary yellow, custom-made, crepe silk and tulle gown by Vivienne Westwood, which shows off her incredible figure perfectly.
The American Vogue cover was captured by Alasdair Mclellan and screams high fashion editorial, as the Oscar-winner is posing in a voluminous vibrant green (the color of the moment, don’tcha know!) Valentino Haute Couture dress, with her hair pulled back in a sleek low bun. Her unmissable Cartier earrings are on full display, as they should be! The two covers couldn’t be more different – and we are in love with both of them!

The British-born singer, who now lives in the US with her eight-year-old son, Angelo, speaks to the publication about a wide range of topics, including her divorce from Simon Konecki, her upcoming album (omg!) what it’s like living with anxiety, and body image, among other things. Speaking of body image – although Adele’s unmistakable and extremely impressive weight loss is clear to see in the cover and editorial images featured in both magazines, the 15-time Grammy winner told the publication that she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, especially as she did it for herself and no one else. And that is why, she said, she didn’t document her journey on social media.
“People are shocked because I didn’t share my ‘journey’. They’re used to people documenting everything on Instagram … I did it for myself and not anyone else,” she told British Vogue. “You don’t need to be overweight to be body positive, you can be any shape or size.” Well said, Adele! She also mentioned that she fell in love with working out because it helped her manage her anxiety, so losing weight was never the main priority. “I realized that when I was working out, I didn’t have any anxiety,” she confessed. “It was never about losing weight. I thought, If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong,” she said in American Vogue.

This is one of the only times the “Skyfall” singer has addressed her weight loss. She previously joked about it when she hosted Saturday Night Live back in October last year, saying, “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me but actually, because of all the Covid restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and only bring half of me – and this is the half I chose.” Props for the way she handled that!
Adele’s Vogue covers coincide perfectly with the release of her new music, almost six years since her album “25” came out. She treated fans to a very short teaser of her next single “Easy on Me” on Tuesday, October 5th, which we now know will be released on October 15th. So close, yet so far away still – we’re counting down the days! Adele has been teasing the world with hints that her brand new album is just around the corner too, by plastering the number 30 on billboards in prime locations across the globe. The number is in keeping with the rest of her album titles, “19” “21” and “25” so it all makes perfect sense!
