According to People, a source has confirmed that Brody and Chapman have been together “for a while.”
The source said, “She thinks he’s unusual and interesting. She finds [him] to be an interesting person with a deep passion for his work that is similar to hers,” and that Brody “diverts her attention from the pain of her situation and subsequent split.”
Brody and Chapman, 45, were first linked together as a couple in fall of 2019, with People’s source confirming the relationship in March 2020. The Tribeca Film Festival was the first time the two made a red carpet appearance together.
The actor’s new film “Clean” premiered at the film festival. Directed by Paul Solet, the movie stars Brody as a garbage man who is tormented by a difficult past.
Chapman was married to Harvey Weinstein for ten years. She announced she was divorcing the movie producer in 2017, after over 90 women made accusations of rape, sexual assault or harassment against him.
Weinstein has since been convicted in a New York court of criminal sexual assault and rape, and sentenced to 23 years in prison. He will be extradited to California to face similar charges in the state.
A fashion designer and co-founder of luxury label Marchesa, Chapman’s career and public image has suffered in light of her ex-husband’s charges and conviction. Claims have surfaced that Weinstein pressured actresses to wear Chapman’s designs on red carpets.
However several stars including Priyanka Chopra and Scarlett Johansson have shown their support for Chapman.
