Miley Cyrus continues to claim the very top of the US charts with her infectious self-love anthem “Flowers,” and fellow hitmaker Lady Gaga is rumored to join her for an upcoming remixed duet version.

As seen on the official American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) website, Cyrus, 30, has registered a new version of the song with the “Born This Way” singer, 36.

Naturally, fans can’t get enough of the potential musical team-up, and continue to take to Twitter to share their excitement. Here’s what we know:

Miley Cyrus Registers “Flowers” Remix With Lady Gaga Feature

According to ASCAP, the organization collectively licenses the public performance rights of its members’ musical works to venues, broadcasters, and digital streaming services. It is a a membership association composed of more than 875,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers.

Cyrus released “Flowers” on January 13th (cough, cough ex Liam Hemsworth’s birthday) and it debuted at #1. Since then, the song continues to garner millions of record-breaking streams and spark fan theories as to what its lyrics allude to.

Neither Cyrus or Gaga have commented on the rumored collaboration, and it isn’t clear whether the Chromatica artist contributed a full verse, lyrics, bridge, etc. Fans also have yet to find out when the new rendition is coming out, if it is indeed happening (fingers crossed!)

Fan Reactions To The Possible Duet

After news of Cyrus’ ASCAP registration broke, fans immediately marveled at the idea of a duet between the two songstresses. “Lady gaga and miley cyrus collab really needs to happen… it’s overdue,” one fan tweeted along with a video compilation of both vocalists’ most impressive notes and range-showing moments.

Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga would probably get along well since they are both pop stars with a lot of energy,” another fan wrote, imagining their joint musical dynamic. “They might go out to clubs together or perform together on stage.”

Someone else chimed in, “I always thought they sounded a bit similar,” stressing that their harmonizing vocals would be “super powerful.” (Let’s hope the rumors are true!)
