Who doesn’t love the convenience of working out, running, commuting, and just living life with the help of wire-less AirPods to deliver crystal-clear sound the entire time? Of course, as with most tech devices, there are pros and cons to using AirPods. They’re small (and can get lost), they’re expensive (but many believe worth every penny), and, unlike their wired counterparts, they lose battery power, sometimes faster then we would like.
This is the one AirPods hack Apple employees say makes your battery last SO much longer.
AirPods users took to Reddit to complain about a common problem they were noticing: their AirPods seemed to be experiencing a battery drain of as much as 4 percent per hour when they were in their charging cases.
Luckily, there’s a simple solution for this battery issue, according to Cool Material: “While it’s not a 100% fix for the mystery battery drain, a simple reset usually does the trick.”
Resetting your AirPods is also a piece of cake, according to Tech Radar:
Step 1. Make sure your AirPods and AirPod Charging Case have a charge
Step 2. Open the case, then press and hold the small button on the back of the case
Step 3. Pair it with a new Apple device by holding them close together or pair via Bluetooth
Step 4 (this one is optional). Change the name of the AirPods
If you’re still experiencing a faster battery drainage than you’d like, another quick hack is to use one AirPod at a time to conserve battery. Your AirPods deliver excellent sound quality and you might just be able to get by using one at a time.
