Alec Baldwin was spotted out and about in the midst of the controversy surrounding his wife, Hilaria (aka Hilary) Baldwin.

The SNL star looked worse for wear while running errands in the Hamptons, just a day after he took to social media to defend his wife, who is facing a storm of criticism.

Keep reading for all the details.

According to Daily Mail, the actor refused to comment on the scandal around his wife and her now questionable Spanish heritage.

Despite his silence in-person, the actor did not hesitate to defend Hilaria on Instagram, posting a video to defend her honor and honesty.

In it, the 62-year old took issue with Twitter, claiming it was "a lot of sh*t."

If that wasn't clear enough, Baldwin added, "You have to kind of hack your way through the debris of Twitter. Twitter is just a vast orchard of cr**."

The scandal itself started on Twitter, with a now famous tweet from @Lenibriscoe: "You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person."

The Twitter user followed up the thread with several videos of Hilaria's exaggerated Spanish accent that is a drastic change from her now very American-sounding voice. In one clip, Hilaria even says that she forgot the word for "cucumber" in English.

Although this might not seem like too big of a deal at first, the scandal only grew from there--and now it looks like Hilaria's claims of being from Spain are pretty far (about an ocean's width) from the truth; she was born and raised in Boston.

Alec did not appreciate the scandal, and he had some choice words for everyone discussing it: "There's things that have been said lately about people that I love, that I care about deeply, which are ridiculous. I mean, just ridiculous."

"They've said it about people I love--false things. Untrue things," he continued.

Baldwin also urged his followers to "consider the source" before placing any blame or judgment--which sounds a little off considering the source was Hilaria herself in past videos.

He later posted a quote to his Instagram profile: "A lie can travel around the world and back again while the truth is putting on its shoes."

At this point, Hilaria has responded to the criticism a few times (so consider her shoes fully on), but it seems that her defense is working against her. As Page Six wrote, "Hilaria Baldwin blames Spanish heritage scandal on everyone but herself."
