A fresh preview for Alec and Hilaria Baldwin‘s upcoming reality TV show The Baldwins, set to debut on TLC next month, has just been released. However, numerous fans are criticizing both the “disgusting” trailer and the concept of the series, especially in light of the tragic incident on the set of the film Rust in 2021.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins lost her life and director Joel Souza sustained injuries when a live round was accidentally fired from a prop gun handled by Alec, 66. On January 27th, TLC released the debut trailer for the series, showcasing the “wild” home of Alec and Hilaria, 41, with “seven children, six pets, and two parents.”

At the beginning of the trailer, the Oscar nominee and yoga instructor are shown admonishing their children about not urinating in the pool and avoiding chocolate consumption. The scene then fades to darkness and transitions to the New Mexico desert, the filming location of Rust. Hilaria then says: “A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy. This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.”

A teary-eyed Alec then says: "Honestly, from the bottom of my soul, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have you and these kids." Hilaria replies: "We've had bad moments, but we found our foundation... we're solid and we're here together."

On YouTube, viewers headed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with one writing: "new low for TLC."

Someone else added: "This show is a huge slap in the face to the family of the woman who died...as her husband tries to parent through his tragedy ALONE. I've always been an Alec Baldwin fan but this show is in extreme poor taste."

One other noted: "Ugh. Such a shameful thing to put on the air, considering the tragedy on the Rust set." An additional user commented: "they must really need some money if they're shilling for TLC lol" as one other chimed in: "This is absolutely disgusting. The family have no shame." Another added: "TLC. I am unsubscribing. This is sick." One concurred: "no one asked for this.

The Beetlejuice actor's trial for involuntary manslaughter was dismissed on July 12, 2024 after he asserted that he did not pull the trigger on the revolver that fired a single bullet, injuring Rust director Souza, 51, and fatally wounding cinematographer Hutchins in 2021.

Hutchins, who was 42, passed away, leaving behind her husband Matt Hutchins and their 12-year-old son Andros. On April 15th last year, Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed received an 18-month sentence at the New Mexico Women's Correctional Facility for her involvement in the incident.
