Alex Rodriguez Credits Cutting Down On Red Meat For 40-Lb Weight Loss
"The biggest thing I've done for my diet is I used to eat meat like steak probably eight out of 10 days, and now I've cut it to one or two days out of 10," Rodriguez, who was papped back in February in Miami Beach, above, told the pub in a recent interview.
But it isn't just his diet that has contributed to his svelte new frame – it's a whole lot of exercise too! The baseball star has previously credited his girlfriend, 44-year-old fitness instructor Jaclyn ‘Jac' Cordeiro, with helping him get into shape with exercise and body building, among other things. And he once again opened up about some of the physical things he does to maintain his enviable new shape.

Jennifer Lopez's ex-fiancé told People that he has "been doing the same exercise routine now for a couple of years," which he says includes "getting to the gym six or seven days a week, just to break a sweat every day — nothing too crazy."
"I try to mix in a little yoga here and there, and some meditation, and then I incorporate a 40-minute walk before I go to bed. That's also been very helpful," he added.
Alex Rodriguez Started His Weight Loss Journey In 2021
Rodriguez first let his fans in on his weight loss journey in a candid Instagram post, which he shared with his followers in September 2023.
"At the end of 2021, my family pointed out that I was looking unhealthy. Not what you want to hear, but I knew I wasn't my best self," he wrote at the time, before detailing some of the changes he made since the end of 2021 which contributed to his epic weight loss. And yes, he mentioned cutting down on red meat back then too!
"It all came down to me making some key changes in my habits: 1. More plants, less red meat 2. Intermittent fasting 3. Night walks. Small changes led to big results, and I'm feeling better than ever." He also thanked his girlfriend for her support throughout the process, adding, "Thank you @jac_lynfit for being my guide and support. You coached me up to stay dedicated, motivated and improve each day."
