Amanda Seyfried made no secret of the fact that she had a slight wardrobe malfunction on the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards red carpet at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on January 15th – and again throughout the ceremony – but we didn’t love her look any less!
Amanda Seyfried's Dior Haute Couture Gown Falls Apart On The Red Carpet
The 37-year-old actress looked nothing short of spectacular in a gorgeous gold, shimmering Dior Haute Couture gown with off-the-shoulder fringe sleeves and sheer cutouts on the side. It was spectacular for so many reasons, so we understand why she and her styling team were so drawn to it! However, the Mean Girls alum explained that the dress, which hailed from the SS20 Haute Couture collection, was particularly delicate because it was reportedly constructed from just one piece of fabric, which therefore made it prone to ripping, and actually fell apart at various points of the evening!
"I’m just going to take off my dress," the Les Miserables actress joked about the "archival Dior" dress when talking to Access Hollywood, as one of its sleeves was coming down before everyone's eyes. "It keeps breaking. I'm not kidding, it keeps ripping. It's fine. It's fine," she continued, adding, "Honestly, it’s old, it’s beautiful!" while talking about the wardrobe malfunction and playfully touching the sleeve, which appeared to have a mind of its own throughout the interview.
Amanda could visibly be seen struggling to keep the dress on while walking the red carpet and also during the ceremony – but she handled it like a true pro! And in spite of everything, we still think she was one of the best-dressed attendees! She finished off her look with some Stuart Weitzman heels and Cartier jewelry, with her hair worn in a chic low pony and her makeup featuring a bold red lip.

Amanda Seyfried Wins Big At the Critics Choice Awards
The Mamma Mia! star didn’t let the wardrobe malfunction ruin her night, as the awards were memorable for far more positive reasons, such as winning the 'Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television' accolade for her role as disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout.

She could be seen clutching the back of her dress as she walked to the stage to accept her award – what a pro! – and then changed into a black blazer and wore her hair down when The Dropout won 'Best Limited Series.' What a night!
