The American Music Awards looked a little different this year. The show is usually a hub of A-listers, but this year’s AMAs replaced the celebrity audience with cardboard cut-outs (seriously).
Although the show was definitely a stripped-down version of the award show we’re used to, it did not disappoint in the fashion department. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Dua Lipa still glammed up to strut the red carpet, and their wardrobe choices got everyone talking.
Keep reading to see why!
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez never fails to impress when it comes to the red carpet, and the AMAs were no exception.
The 51-year-old stunned the red carpet in a slinky silver number that could not have looked better on her. The two-piece outfit featured a low-cut crop top and matching high-slit skirt. The two-piece set, custom-made for Lopez by Balmain, brought the glow to the red carpet.
J.Lo's fiancé thought so too. He commented on the singer's post, "Let’s go" with three red heart emojis, clearly excited to see her perform.
Tayshia Adams
Tayshia, ABC's latest Bachelorette, showed up to the AMAs ready to present. The reality star opted for a navy blue, gold, and black mini dress for the show, where she was presenting the award for Favorite Female Artist - Soul/R&B.
Her Balmain mini dress was definitely a showstopper, and it's fair to say that Tayshia has never looked better.
Bebe Rexha
Bebe Rexha's red carpet look left very little to the imagination. The 31-year-old singer chose a silver Julien Macdonald gown with a large cut out across her chest, showing off her cleavage and toned stomach. The sparkling dress also featured a thigh-high slit, all in all reminding us of J.Lo's wardrobe choice.
During last night's show, Rexha performed "Baby I'm Jealous" with Doja Cat, and the audience (though limited for Covid safety precautions) could not get enough!
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa made her AMAs appearance all the way from London, but that didn't stop the "Don't Start Now" singer from dressing to impress. Lipa showed up to the award show in a Versace Spring 2021 mini dress. The dress' short hemline was enough to get people talking. Plus, the intricate details, shell bodice, and starfish design added a fun touch to the scandalous dress.
Lipa won the award for Favorite Pop/Rock song for "Don't Start Now," and the singer also performed during the show, singing her hit "Levitating."
Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion came to the AMAs ready to impress--and it definitely worked out in her favor. She performed new single, "Body," during the show, which got all of her fans talking. She decided on a sheer bodysuit for the performance, showing off all of her curves.
Plus, the 25-year-old took home the award last night for Favorite Song Rap/Hip-Hop for "WAP." Megan shares the award with Cardi B.
