Amazon is making a major update to all of its U.S. Whole Foods locations, and it’s good news for Amazon Prime members.

The company announced that they will be offering Prime members free, one-hour grocery pickup at Whole Foods stores–making grocery shopping easier and safer.

Keep reading for more details.

According to Amazon's announcement, the free, one-hour pickup from Whole Foods Market is available at all U.S. locations for Prime members on orders of $35 or more.

The company's blog post explains, "Prime members can open the Amazon app or visit www.amazon.com, click the Whole Foods Market tab, select a pickup store and start shopping. Once they’re ready to checkout, they can select a one-hour pickup window that works for them and place their order."

Then, to expedite the process even more, customers can check-in using the Amazon app when they're on their way to pickup.

By doing so, you can cut down your wait time once you arrive at the market. The statement explains, "The majority of customers who check-in using the Amazon App before arriving at the store wait just one minute to receive their orders after arriving."

That's not the only advantage to being a Prime member when it comes to grocery shopping: "In addition to grocery pickup, Prime members in more than 2,000 cities and towns can receive unlimited free, two-hour delivery on more than 170,000 items from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market on orders of $35 or more."

Although coronavirus definitely made the need for grocery pickup and delivery more immediate, it looks like customers will continue to rely on these alternative grocery shopping options even when things become safer.

The blog post continues, "According to recent data from Global Data Research, almost 68 percent of consumers say they will continue to use curbside pickup even when the pandemic has subsided."

With all of this in mind, there are definite advantages to becoming a Prime member, especially for those concerned about the safety of grocery shopping.
