For those of us who live for bargain hunting, Amazon Prime Day is literally a dream come true. The mega retailer seldom offers mark-downs, so this once-yearly sale is a really big deal. This year’s Amazon Prime Day starts tomorrow, June 21 and ends on June 22. This means that we’ll only have 48 hours to get the most out of this event, so it’s best to have a game plan.
Here’s what we know so far: Amazon’s proprietary tech devices will be up to 50% off, daily essentials will be 20% off and Amazon is even offering deals on movie rentals.
We’ve become pros at shopping online sales, so we put together a little tip list to help you get the most out of this year’s Amazon Prime Day. Here’s how you should shop:
1. Join Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime Day is reserved for members of the retailer’s loyalty program, Amazon Prime. It costs $12.99 per month to join Prime, but it is worth it if you shop on Amazon frequently.
In addition to being eligible to shop Prime Day deals, members enjoy free delivery on all Amazon orders, unlimited streaming of Amazon Prime, and extra deals and discount options throughout the year. If there’s ever a good time to join Amazon Prime, it is now - so you can get the most out of your membership on Prime Day.
You can also sign up for a 30-day free trial ahead of Prime Day, and cancel without being charged before the month is over. This way you can still shop the deals tomorrow!
2. Know Where To Find The Best Deals
Amazon is a huge website, so it would be next to impossible to browse every single deal available during the 48 hours of Prime Day. The best way to make sure you find as many deals as possible is to know where to look.
Start by downloading the app. This is usually easier to navigate than the website because the app offers a “Deals” section that displays both current and upcoming offers. You can even select to watch specific deals so you can stay on top of shopping them once they go live.
3. Scout Out Major Sales Ahead Of Prime Day
It is hard to not get overwhelmed at the sheer amount of deals and offers during Prime Day, simply because there are so many to shop. We recommend taking stock of some deals to be prepared as to what to look for once prices start to drop.
While Amazon keeps pretty quiet about the specifics of its Prime Day deals ahead of the event, there are a few places to find insights. So far, we’ve learned that Amazon is already running a promotion that gives you $10 shopping credit if you spend $10 on a small business vendor through its site! We’ve also learned that the retailer plans to offer a lot of discounts in tech items, particularly on its own products.
4. Make A Wish-List Ahead Of Amazon Prime Day
Another way to make sure you don’t miss out on saving on the right items is to pick what you want ahead of time. It can take a while to discover the right products on Amazon, between reading reviews and comparing similar items. So instead of wasting valuable shopping time during Prime Day, start browsing now.
Amazon lets you make wish lists, so add the items you know you want to your wish list, then check their prices throughout Prime Day to see if they’re eligible for any promotions.
