Oftentimes, when a contestant leaves a talent competition series like American Idol, you may not hear from them again unless they manage to have a successful career outside of the show. However, that is not true in this case.

An American Idol contestant who was rejected from the show after her audition recently went on an online rant, claiming that the show’s alum and one of the current judges, Carrie Underwood, chose not to send her to Hollywood because of her connection to pop icon Taylor Swift. While some support the musician, others think she didn’t make it through for other reasons. Read more about the messy situation below.

Presley Cash Gets Rejected By 'American Idol' Judges

Presley Cash is a Missouri-based musician and actress who gained some traction on social media in the last few years after starring in two of Taylor Swift's popular music videos, "Mean" and "I Can See You." She also appeared on stage during Taylor's record-breaking Eras tour when it stopped in Missouri, and got to embrace the artist in front of thousands of people.

The 27-year-old is looking to expand her music career and took a leap by auditioning for the famous singing competition series in Nashville, Tennessee. Although her audition never ended up being aired, viewers of the show may have caught a glimpse of the brief clip they inserted from her interaction with the current judges, including the show's season four champion, country star Carrie Underwood.

After auditioning for the panel of judges, Presley didn't get her "ticket to Hollywood," and eventually took to social media to explain not only her disappointment, but that there was allegedly more going on behind the scenes before she went to Nashville.

Presley Cash Claims She Was Rejected Because Of Her Ties To Taylor Swift

On her TikTok account, which has gained much attention in the last few weeks, she posted several videos that gave her followers her side of her American Idol rejection story.

In one of her videos, Presley claims that she went to audition for the famous show "after six months of grooming" from its producers. She wrote that she was contacted by producers from the show who said she was an "amazing" singer-songwriter and that they "loved" her work with Taylor Swift.

Then, she claimed it all fell apart, and that Carrie Underwood said she couldn't sing and "can't hang" in Hollywood, where she allegedly worked for 20 years.

"She knew about my work with Taylor Swift and that I was a part of the biggest tour in 'herstory,'" she added.

"It seems the tea is hotter than we thought."

In another video posted to her TikTok account on April 14th, Presley elaborated on the producers allegedly "grooming" her, writing that they would tell her things like "When you get on the show," and "When you get a yes."

Presley also alleged that the show's producers "intimidated" her and told her not to talk about mental health while she was on camera, despite her being a big advocate for mental health and wellness online. She claimed they also said they would "test" her to see if she was mentally fit for the series.

The comments on Presley's videos about American Idol are full of mixed reactions, as many "Swifties" are taking her side and pushing her to keep going with her career. At the same time, other viewers of the show aren't convinced she was rejected because of her connections or background.

"With all due respect, it just seems like you are trying to ride on Taylor Swift's coat tails," commented a TikTok user on one of her videos.

"You were in a music video, you didn't do anything musical for her tour."

"You are so much greater than anything Carrie Underwood has to say," wrote another.

"Keep being you."

For now, it seems that Presley will continue creating music and content for her fans, many of whom are standing firmly behind her after the audition incident, which has been raising eyebrows across the country.
