Angelina Jolie was spotted emerging from a three-hour lunch date with billionaire heir David Mayer de Rothschild at the celeb hotspot Nobu in Malibu, California on Thursday, March 23rd. We don’t know whether the lunch was for business or for pleasure, as the internet has mixed opinions, but we *do* know that she looked positively glowing in the pictures!

Angelina Jolie Wears Black Cutout Dress In Malibu
The 47-year-old Oscar-winner showed off her svelte figure in a chic black maxi dress with short sleeves and two very racy cutouts on each side (we love it when she shows some skin!) and finished off her look with some seductive black heels and statement black Hollywood diva sunglasses.
For jewelry, the Maleficent star donned some gold rings, a thin gold necklace, and some subtle gold earrings, while her highlighted brown and blonde hair was worn in a natural down do. And for his part, Rothschild wore a pair of jeans teamed with a blue shirt, blue jacket, and black shoes.

Although both Angelina and David have a shared interest in activism and they *could* have been talking business for three hours, the cutout dress and sky-high heels definitely make us think that their lunch was less business and more pleasure!
Having said that, on Monday, March 27th, People reported that a source close to the Eternals actress said that their lunch was “only for business purposes,” after many outlets, including Page Six, first described their meeting as a date, while People also noted that a source at the restaurant said they were with a small group of people, and it didn’t seem to be anything romantic. But then again, we know that celeb insiders don’t always tell the truth, so we’re not ruling anything out at the moment!

Who Is David Mayer de Rothschild?
David Mayer de Rothschild is a 44-year-old British adventurer and environmentalist and heir to the Rothschild fortune. He is the youngest of Victoria Lou Schott and Sir Evelyn de Rothschild’s three children, and for what it’s worth, Forbes reports that the Rothschilds are estimated to have a net worth of $500B!
As an adventurer, he has been known to go on some interesting expeditions, including a 100-day crossing of the Arctic from Russia to Canada, and an 8,000 nautical mile sailing journey from San Francisco to Sydney on a sustainable ship he invented, made primarily out of recycled plastic bottles, named the Plastiki. And from an environmentalist point of view, he launched ecology-oriented lifestyle brand Lost Explorer back 2016.
