The latest issue of Vogue Japan features Angelina Jolie on its cover, donning a stunning gold pleated look from Issey Miyake’s 1989 Spring/Summer collection paired with brown straw flats.

In the cover story, the Atelier Jolie founder, 48, delved into how her emotions play both a strength and weakness in her personal life.

The Oscar winner and style icon also chatted about her visit to Japan earlier this year for Guerlain’s “Women For Bees” project and created an extracurricular class where she met Japanese craftsmen to learn about their culture and techniques.

For the new cover image, the Girl, Interrupted actress wore her brunette tresses in a slicked-back, elegant high bun. As for her makeup look, Jolie sported smokey eyeshadow, black liner, rosy blush and a light pink lip.

Jolie sat down with the outlet and candidly shared insights into her experiences in the limelight, as well as her aspirations for creating a sustainable fashion line. "It’s probably my weakness too, but my strength is that I’m emotional. I am deeply human, and flawed," Jolie said.

The Eternals alum went on: "I feel that I want to connect to other people. And that can bring forward chaos, but it can also bring forward very authentic connections." She explained that this has affected her ability to catch an adequate amount of z's.

"I don’t sleep well, I’m not one of those people," the mom of six noted. The Golden Globe winner continued: "I never settle. But, you know, I think some of us are kind of born that way. I've been trying to calm down since I was like five years old, and it's just not happening. Some people are just born a little bit on fire."

Jolie elaborated on her efforts to maintain a clear distinction between her personal and private life. "I kind of keep it separate. And I haven’t really found a way to have a relationship with fame—other than when I direct," the Maleficent star added.

The Outsiders Broadway producer noted: "I think I’ve been avoiding it, because I’ve been avoiding Hollywood since I was young. The more you become aware of in the world, the more it sits on your soul in a very, very heavy way."

Jolie continued: "Because you discover the pain, the inhumanity, the cruelty. And it’s very real, and there’s a lot of injustice. As you get older, you see how many times, especially nowadays, a lot that has been fought for is sliding back."
