Angelina Jolie Appears Alongside Daughter Vivienne At The Tony Awards As Fans Slam Her For 'Textbook Alienation' Against Brad Pitt

At the 2024 Tony Awards, Angelina Jolie and her 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne, graced the red carpet to support their Broadway musical, “The Outsiders,” which took home the night’s coveted ‘Best Musical’ award. The Eternals star, 49, had produced the show, while her and Brad Pitt‘s daughter worked alongside her as a producer’s assistant.

Angelina and Vivienne looked radiant in matching get-ups, with the Oscar-winning actress donning a teal velvet Atelier Versace gown with a matching shrug and Vivienne rocking a white collared shirt, a seafoam green vest, matching pants, and a cute bow tie to complete.

However, despite the two’s recent success, rumors have been swirling around about Angelina’s alleged use of “textbook alienation” tactics against Vivienne’s father, Brad, 60. It’s been reported that Vivienne and two other Brangelina children — daughters Shiloh, 18, and Zahara, 19 — recently dropped the Pitt surname.

Angelina Jolie Steps Out For Chic Matching Teal Outfit Moment With Her And Brad Pitt's Daughter Vivienne Amid 'Textbook Alienation' Claims

At the ceremony, the Girl, Interrupted alum and her child were all smiles. This comes weeks after Vivienne's name was listed in an "Outsiders" Broadway musical Playbill as Vivenne Jolie rather than Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.

In 2016, many fans were left stunned when formerly dubbed "power couple" Angelina and Brad decided to call it quits on their 12-year-long romance, a mere two years after they tied the knot. Together, they share six children — Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, Shiloh, and their 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Soon after Vivienne made headlines for dropping Pitt from her last name, her sister Shiloh did the same, filing to change it on her 18th birthday last month.

As an insider recently dished to The Daily Mail: "Now that Shiloh is 18, she can make up her own mind as far as how she wants her relationship with her father to develop." The source then accused Angelina of making sure her children had "limited involvement" with Brad.

"It is still that way with the underage ones, but with Shiloh that is no longer Angie's choice. If Shiloh chooses to have limited contact with her dad, that is her decision," the tipster went on.

They also noted that Brad would love Shiloh "unconditionally" no matter what. "He would love Shiloh to start making her own decisions and for him to be in the mix for her future, so he just has to see what happens and hope for the best."

Over the course of eight years since the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star's marriage with the Bullet Train actor fell apart, the Daily Mail has consistently reported on Brad's attempts to "reconnect" with his children after the alleged 2016 "abusive" altercation that occurred during a private jet ride.

The tabloid claims that through multiple conversations with friends of the actor, it "can be said with certainty" that the Moneyball alum has made countless efforts to repair the damage caused by his past actions, but none have "worked."

Brad has been entangled in lengthy custody battles that have resulted in temporary victories. However, his 2021 win of 50-50 custody was short-lived as it was overturned on appeal. A judge also memorably intervened to ensure that Angelina refrains from eavesdropping on his phone calls with their children. Additionally, Brad has been directed to participate in "reunification therapy" with all six of their offspring.

In a 2016 Instagram post, Pax wrote that the youngest kids "tremble with fear in [Brad's] presence." It was implied that the two eldest outright refused to see their father at that point. According to the publication, it appears that all six have banded together tightly with Brad's second ex-wife, creating quite the formidable crew. Last year, Angelina said her kids were the "closest people to me in my life." She added, telling WSJ Magazine: "We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from."

Although Vivienne, Shiloh (above, side-by-side) and their other siblings have accompanied their renowned actress mother on numerous red carpet events, they have never done this with Brad.

The Daily Mail reported that one source revealed: "This is the result of textbook parental alienation, and it is a great sadness in his life."

They added: "There have been years and years of her [Angelina] telling and retelling the same lies about him and the reality is that she has alienated the kids, and the reality is that it is upsetting to Brad. He cares about all of them. It is devastating."
