While Angelina Jolie’s name has mostly been in headlines in relation to the end of her 8-year divorce battle with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, the actress has pulled out all the stops for her performance in and promotion of her recent film, Maria. However, despite the critical acclaim the film has received in recent months, Jolie was snubbed of an Oscar nomination, and she’s reportedly feeling pretty bitter about it, thinking it’s a result of Hollywood being “Team Brad.” Keep reading for more information.

Angelina Jolie Is Snubbed Of An Oscar Nomination

Produced by Netflix, Maria release in August of 2024, and Angelina Jolie put her heart and soul into the film, even learning opera singing and embarking on an extensive press tour. She appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, her first late-night TV appearance in over a decade, and did multiple magazine cover shoots and interviews all for the sake of promoting Maria.

However, despite these efforts, Jolie was not nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the film. She secured a Golden Globes nomination, but lost that to Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres for her performance in "I'm Still Here."

Angelina Jolie Blames Brad Pitt

Predictably, sources close to Jolie are reporting that she's "devastated" by the snub. "Look at all the press she did for the film—she wanted to get nominated." However, devastation isn't the only feeling Jolie is dealing with. The mother-of-six is reportedly feeling the effects of the end of her divorce battle, and thinks Hollywood has chosen Brad's side.

"This just shows that Hollywood is Team Brad," the source explained. "The Globes showed that the foreign press loves her, but that's not Hollywood. Nobody was going to go against Brad and give Angelina a vote...people just love Brad."
